thanks aussie.. I have plans for next season.. some box adjustments so that the standard boxes can take flow hive frames like whats in my new Flowframe beehive..

Manuka honey is not the best tasting stuff and not so long ago you couldn't retail the stuff with keepers selling it cheap to Biscuit manufactures.. etc..

then they realised the benefits to it in healing etc...

raw honey is pretty good too.... always buy straight from the keeper..

supermarket garbage has been ultra heat treated and super filtered.. which kills all of the benefits.. apart from it still tastes "ok" ... but not as rich as raw honey..

oh, and ultra heat treating it gives it a longer shelf life without it crystallising.. good raw honey will crystallise quicker as it hasn't been sterilised will all of the good stuff dying off..

retailers are also importing chinese honey etc... the only Australian content was that it was packed here into Australian jars... full of chemicals and chinese pee..

I have been surprised with the feedback about my honey this season... one persons husband said...

"where'd you get that honey?? can you get me MORE of it"

another old lady - "the supermarket stuff has no taste do you have any more?"

so we are starting to get a little bit of a following

sure...honey comes from flowers etc

but you need to understand the meaning of "Vegan"

Veganism is a way of living which excludes all forms of exploitation of, and cruelty to, the animal kingdom

so crazy vegan's would say that we are exploiting the bees...

I'd prefer to call it, "Mutual Benefit"

should you eat fruits and vegetables?

after all... Farmers are "exploiting" the bees to pollenate the crops to grow produce to sell to the markets...

all crazy stuff..
