We could never beat China in a real war.

I don't know why they are spending so much money.

Totally correct.  USA.

We would be better off making better friends with China.
They will just laugh at anything we have.
We have 6 Collins subs & some people say
that sometimes only 1 is in the water.
Australia is a defense joke.

In any case - China has nuclear weapons & we have zero nuclear weapons.
We aren't in the same league.

And where is the aircraft carrier to go with it ?

You and booby should lecture at the War College you have unsurpassed knowledge in offensive & defensive tactics, as well as aircraft, and naval hardware design; to hear you two talk is truly something else.  Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin

BigOl - you're just a troll with nothing to add.

Australia will commit more than $1 trillion to defending itself over the next two decades.

Yet we cannot pay $50 billion for a fttp nbn

Angry Angry Angry Angry Angry Angry Angry Angry Angry

The bit thats really going to annoy you is that the NBN was eventually going to make the government money. It wasnt even counted in the budget.

It already annoys me!

The FTTP nbn provides an roi of 7-10%!

It provides speeds of 10gb/s (plus).

It pays itself back.

It creates jobs.

Yet - we can't spend the 5 billion a year.

Instead we need to spend 10 times that on planes that will never fly and other toys!

If China wanted to wipe us out they already would have.
