Double standards for left and right-wing women

Good tweet from Joe Hildebrand, someone who I would consider a centrist, and probably one of the least impartial and most objective political commentators:

"Okay to sh itcan women as long as they're right-wing"

How true this is. Whenever someone criticised Gillard, it was because she was they were misogynistic and hated women. Same goes for attacks on other women of the left like Triggs and really any female Labor politician.

However, when an incredulous allegations are made against a woman of the right; namely Peta Credlin, the "feminists" are nowhere to be seen. The usual suspects like Anne Summers, Jenna Price, Wendy Harmer,the twitterverse, Mumma Mia and the Hoopla don't say anything.

The same was the case when Sophie Mirabella was fighting to retain her seat in Indi at the 2013 election, and the same for two conservative female journalists; namely Rita Panahi and Miranda Devine, over disgusting comments made about them by a Muslim apologist.

For the left, it is never the principle that matters. It is the side.

One simple fact Joe omits is that the attacks on Peta Credlin came from the right wing media and and members of Abbott's own Government....The attacks on Julia Gillard where also from the right wing media and members of her own party....If Joe wants to lay blame on anyone for the criticism of woman he should be looking at himself and the right wing media....I never saw dickhead Joe defending Julia Gillard and he only raises this concern when one of the right are criticised by his peers....Pathetic right wing whining IMO!!!
