So this "design fault" on the A380 is actually the exact same design that is on every other plane in the sky.
The A380 was designed at a time when passenger jet armrest space has been a bone-of-contention with passengers for several decades prior to this new plane coming off the factory floor.
That they didn't take the opportunity to correct this design fault is a black mark against them. They had the money, the time, and the motivation to make the adjustment - but instead they said "she''l be 'right, mate!".
Laziness, incompetence, and settling for Third Rate doesn't win them any bouquets from all the passengers down through the decades who have suffered from cramped elbow room.

So why have you felt the need to single out the A380?
See the above. They've had ample time to correct this fault.
One skinny armrest between the passengers does not speak of optimal comfort.
