You're truly an over dramatic pedantic

Home detention vs may not spend a day behind bars

They have not been given home detention.

They have been sentenced to 15 months imprisonment.

Yes, or no?

Imprisonment can mean home detention or jail. The court has not decided whether they will serve their imprisonment at home or in jail.

Seeing that she has already been given a custodial sentence,
No, she hasnt.
It worries me that you couldn't figure that out for yourself.

Of course.  But, in far too many cases, the only truth some will accept is their version of it.

Good afternoon red baron, if you're watching.

Thus far, they have not been given home detention - they have been given prison sentences.

Incorrect. They have been sentenced to imprisonment.

If I was a bookie I'd be offering these odds on them getting a custodial sentence.

Mum 1-20
Midwife 1-2
religious guy 1-1

Opinions?

I can't see anything good coming from the mother going to prison.

If the midwife is given home detention, she can continue with the butchering.

Nothing good comes out of prison. But if you give your kid to some nutjob to mutilate you deserve to experience some suffering.

What about the religious  'community leader' ?

"A third offender, senior community leader Shabbir Mohammedbhai Vaziri, was found guilty of acting as an accessory after the fact by directing community members to lie to police about the practice."

Doesn't sound worthy of a prison sentence.

What these people need is education.

Don't all people who do a crime need education? Sounds like you want these people not to go to prison Pecca? Why?
