What is the resale price of an electric car?

For example, if one was to buy a Model 3 Tesla tomorrow and sell it in a year what could one expect to get off gumtree for it?

*Sure....they're anti competitive as any subsidised job is.  It wouldn't be there without the tax payer.  Very damned difficult for a brainwashed collectivist to understand that I know....  (swaggy) *

Assuming that storage continues to improve exponentially, a clapped out battery car now should expect to be able to repower with new batteries somewhere between 2 and 10 times more effective than the originals.

They still run on electricity.  I suspect there will be a growing industry to recycle cars.

That sounds pretty exciting if you don't mind me saying: can any of it be sold as a legitimate promise I wonder, however?

Most new cars depreciate about 50% the day after you drive it off the lot, in the case of an electric car I would say it would be about 75% due to the niche market of such a vehicle, I would say that a second hand Tesla would be almost unsalable, if you bought one you would definately want to keep it and get your monies worth out of it but the realisation that you bought it for religious reasons will quickly become apparent.

You need to do some homework on depreciation rates.

You also need to understand why people buy Prius's and Tesla's.  None of them are doing it for the resale value.

I think you'll find that 20% in the first year is closer to the mark.

Electric car buyers are like luxury car buyers.  A buyer of an expensive Mercedes does not concern themselves with such things, neither do Tesla buyers.

Possibly not but the question remains worth exploring IMHO!

For a kick off it means there might be another market in play!
