It is shameful how wicked we have become

It is shameful how wicked we have become.

In the U.S. today, everyone of 'colour' is asking the question;

Do black lives [in the USA] matter ?

QUESTION;
If black lives matter, then why do black people [in the USA] in majority black jurisdictions [example Detroit, Baltimore], continue to elect black [and white] thieves, and black [and white] con-artists and corrupt government officials, to govern them ?

It is shameful how wicked we have become.

['we' = = the people of Western societies]

And even though the people who 'lead' us, choose to uphold the 'standard' of this disgrace [i.e. which is leftist, humanist, and progressive politics/ideology], we cannot place the blame upon our political and community leaders.

We have to blame ourselves.

We are wicked people, we are wicked people, who are led by wicked people,          .....i.e. in so many cases, we are led by those, who represent what we are!

'leftist, humanist, and progressive politics/ideology'
= = excuses for/justifying failure/corrupt practices and our own poor choices,         ....instead of accepting personal accountability/responsibility for the outcomes of our own poor choices.

WHY SO ?

We can't/won't always make good choices.

And it is not realistic to always expect a successful outcome [in all of our endeavours in this life].

But we will always multiply our future failures, if we continually refuse to confront the truth,         .....about the consequences of our choices in this life.

.

We are what we repeatedly do.
Excellence, then, is not an act, but a habit.
- Aristotle

"It is our choices that show what we truly are, far more than our abilities."
- Professor Dumbledore
Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets

There is nothing that is wrong, that cannot be remedied, by doing what is right.
- ?

Our job is to live as well and as long as we can, and to help others do the same.

It may not always be easy to avoid reprehensible behaviour in our personal lives, because of emotional intrusions, but it is absolutely easy to follow an honest path, a corruption-free path, in our public lives.
You just don't do dishonesty, simple as that.

Know the enemies of a civil society by their public behaviour, by their fraudulent claim to be liberal-progressive, by their propensity to lie and, above all, by their attachment to authoritarianism.

Simple to say, hard to do. Dishonesty is one of the pillars of western society, both at an interpersonal level and even internally. White lies, politics etc.

I see man's moral corruption as ubiquitous.

Not one human culture or individual is above being influenced by our basest selfish drives.

But some people try
.....to alleviate its effect and influence.

How ?

By openly acknowledging its detrimental effect upon the human psyche,        .....and, by recognising its detrimental influence [upon ourselves],          ....and [some] people do, choose to actively try to curb its unregulated flourish         [e.g. by seeking to establish, and encourage, and to protect a societal environment among men, where wrongdoing, can be exposed to open scrutiny and criticism.].

And some/many people do not       [...i.e. some/many people, oppose such efforts].

In our error [i.e. man's moral corruption], we seek personal advantage,       .....but ultimately, we always find our own condemnation, and we reap the troubles of our own making.

Isaiah 1:7
Your country is desolate, your cities are burned with fire: your land, strangers devour it in your presence, and it is desolate, as overthrown by strangers.

Isaiah 1:21
How is the faithful city become an harlot! it was full of judgment; righteousness lodged in it; but now murderers.
22  Thy silver is become dross, thy wine mixed with water:
23  Thy princes are rebellious, and companions of thieves: every one loveth gifts, and followeth after rewards: they judge not the fatherless, neither doth the cause of the widow come unto them.

.

We could follow a path, to seek to correct/minimise our [most serious] errors, if we chose to.

But who among us, will choose such a path ?

Psalms 73:1
Truly God is good to Israel, even to such as are of a clean heart.

Isaiah 1:16
Wash you, make you clean; put away the evil of your doings from before mine eyes; cease to do evil;
17  Learn to do well; seek judgment, relieve the oppressed, judge the fatherless, plead for the widow.

Jeremiah 21:12
O house of David, thus saith the LORD; Execute judgment in the morning, and deliver him that is spoiled out of the hand of the oppressor, lest my fury go out like fire, and burn that none can quench it, because of the evil of your doings.

Jeremiah 22:3
Thus saith the LORD; Execute ye judgment and righteousness, and deliver the spoiled out of the hand of the oppressor: and do no wrong, do no violence to the stranger, the fatherless, nor the widow, neither shed innocent blood in this place.

Psalms 34:11
Come, ye children, hearken unto me: I will teach you the fear of the LORD.
12  What man is he that desireth life, and loveth many days, that he may see good?
13  Keep thy tongue from evil, and thy lips from speaking guile.
14  Depart from evil, and do good; seek peace, and pursue it.
