Yeah good for them. But in many Islamic countries it's not optional and the more conservative and observant the country the less optional and more oppressive the garment becomes.
Mrs Ali is very lucky to have freedoms her muslim sistas don't

Mrs Ali has a choice

Any reason you refer to her as Mrs. Ali? She has a name. Susan Carland.

Her own name.

I would say it is repressive of you to refer to her only as "Mrs. Ali", as though her identity is bestowed on her by her husband.

It's the same sickness, GOrdy, that had you stating that she wears the Hijab because she is told to.

Women are more than that Gordy. You have little right speaking about the sovereignty of women if you can't even get that right.

This is true. What's your point exactly?

Point. She has freedom of choice to wear a muslim garment of oppression ONLY because she's in a secular country.

Her husband may not demand it but his religion does.

No. It doesn;t. Plenty of Muslim countries do not enforce head coverings.

And it;s not a garment of oppression if it is freely worn.

Nope.

You don't really know much about Islam, do you?

Apart from what the "news" tells you to be frightened of, that is.

Read the Koran, then come back with your Islamophobia.

Until then, you're going to be treated like the ignorant fool you are.

You've been exposed as a liar.

You've displayed your astounding ignorance.

Changing the subject isn't going to make things any better for you.

Sorry.

If you want to debate a subject, you need to do two things:

1) learn something about the subject

2) don't lie

Get back to me when you've achieved at least on of these goals.

What do men wear in Saudi Arabia? Are they free to go around in a pair of stubbies and a wife beater?

And, you've been exposed as a liar.

You've also displayed your astounding ignorance.

Changing the subject is still not going to make things any better for you.

Turnbull was setting up OzEmail when he was I'm diapers.
What he is is a token Muslim on a token program on a token channel.

Yep the token Muslim for the media.

You just have to roll your eyes at the silly fellow.

A few days in a full blown muslim country his wife would be told to cover up or charged and his mouth would get him bashed, locked up or killed. I find it funny how he is always quiet proud of himself and his silly uninformed rants.
