So more people are finding part-time work while full-time work continues to shrink?

OK....

In a nut shell, yeas....with part time work counting as that if you do just one hour a week.

Good, hey?

Impossible. No award allows for less than a 3 hour shift.

I'm sure you are probably correct.  However, the political terminology/rhetoric is that you have part time work if  you work at least one hour a week.
Statistically irrelevant.

I agree.  I should be.  But.....it is not.

*sigh* Yes, it is. How cant his be so hard to understand. Are you related to Mothra? Even if someone works a shift of 1 hour it cannot be declared and therefore can not be included in statistics.

Hold the bus there Ian.  If I am on welfare, am I not obliged to let Centrelink know if I have earned any money working......even for just an hour a week?

..replaced by an increasing number of 'employed' who could be defined as working one hour a week... I note that full-time employment dropped but part-time rose... is that what you want for yourself, longie?  A part-time casual on $2.50 an hour?

.. every day in Ozpol is a day on the farm... a warm walk in the sun.... every meal a banquet and every pay cheque a fortune.... I LOVE OZPOL..

.. and the chance to put the wood to inanities daily..... something that I do so very well...... Cool

Hold up there, Pilgrim... if you are on Social Security you can't be on Welfare....  welfare is going to a charity and getting a handout..... Social Security is a component of the overall tax system and since you pay taxes at every turn, is an Entitlement....

Get with the Team.....

what exactly did they do?

They created the worst Government in the history of our nation.

No they ousted the worst Government in the history of our nation. FYI, it was the Rudd/Gillard/Rudd governments.

Bit of pedantry there, wot?  Just replace welfare with whatever you reckon is the correct word.  The point remains the same.

So despite all the negatives of the lefties, unemployment has DROPPED once again to 5.7%.

Time to thank Abbott and Turnbull for a lowering unemployment rate and rising GDP all in an environment of a poor global outlook.

WELL DONE!!!!

So still .7% higher than when they took office.

I'll tell you what, I'll thank Mal & Tones when you thank Swan for keeping it in check during an ACTUAL global finanical crisis

LW has shown quite a bit of past form - in trying to sweep this factual ABS data under the carpet

...

History will record three years of Abbott/Turnbull Government
delivering an almost 1% RISE in unemployment

LW is either dishonest in not acknowledging the unemployment/employment conditions have worsen or simply ignorant.

Guys... I'll repeat:
"Well, any 'good news' is better than none - especially for a lib who is waiting for any straws to grasp."

For all the nitpicking about it, remember the same scrutiny should apply when lab gets back into government.  So do expect snide remarks back from lib supporters next time.

Nothing snide about pointing out facts, is there?

Absolutely not.

Longy calls it throwing a tantrum.

By the way, where is Longy? He disappeared after Smithy's second post.

I wonder if Maria's about to pop her head in. We haven't seen her for a while.

See what I mean? More tantrums from the leftards.

No wonder the unemployment rate's soaring. What can you do with idiots who don't even have basic year 9 maths?

Unemployment down... AGAIN

This Liberal government is in its final death throes and they have not spent one single day of their miserable underperforming term with an unemployment rate lower than the day they came into office.

Might be a long list of what part of the economy hasn't improved.  How about listing parts that have?
