Funny, it is you that ignores the rest not me. Funny indeed. That would make you a silly old Imam according to your own reasoning.

I am sure she knows that they exist.  The word you want is ignore, and if more people from both of the big faiths ignored more of thier respective books then the world would be a better place.

Picking and choosing paragraphs between both books to compare contradictions and point out brutalities and exhortions to kill and rape is an idiot exercise at best but one enjoyed by idiots very much.

Have fun.   Grin Grin

I know they exist because I quoted them in context to explain the nonsense that was posted ignoring the whole context. If you are going to quote something know what you are quoting in context first.

Its called study.

Jesus said two things that cover the 10 commandments.

1. Love your neighbour as yourself

2.  Love God with all your strength and all your might and all your mind.

Do these two and the ten commandments are covered.

That is you can never break one.

Jesus also said : -

John 5

19Jesus gave them this answer: “Very truly I tell you, the Son can do nothing by himself; he can do only what he sees his Father doing, because whatever the Father does the Son also does. 20For the Father loves the Son and shows him all he does. Yes, and he will show him even greater works than these, so that you will be amazed. 21For just as the Father raises the dead and gives them life, even so the Son gives life to whom he is pleased to give it. 22Moreover, the Father judges no one, but has entrusted all judgment to the Son, 23that all may honor the Son just as they honor the Father. Whoever does not honor the Son does not honor the Father, who sent him.

24“Very truly I tell you, whoever hears my word and believes him who sent me has eternal life and will not be judged but has crossed over from death to life. 25Very truly I tell you, a time is coming and has now come when the dead will hear the voice of the Son of God and those who hear will live. 26For as the Father has life in himself, so he has granted the Son also to have life in himself. 27And he has given him authority to judge because he is the Son of Man.

28“Do not be amazed at this, for a time is coming when all who are in their graves will hear his voice 29and come out—those who have done what is good will rise to live, and those who have done what is evil will rise to be condemned. 30By myself I can do nothing; I judge only as I hear, and my judgment is just, for I seek not to please myself but him who sent me.

Testimonies About Jesus

31“If I testify about myself, my testimony is not true. 32There is another who testifies in my favor, and I know that his testimony about me is true.

33“You have sent to John and he has testified to the truth. 34Not that I accept human testimony; but I mention it that you may be saved. 35John was a lamp that burned and gave light, and you chose for a time to enjoy his light.

36“I have testimony weightier than that of John. For the works that the Father has given me to finish—the very works that I am doing—testify that the Father has sent me. 37And the Father who sent me has himself testified concerning me. You have never heard his voice nor seen his form, 38nor does his word dwell in you, for you do not believe the one he sent. 39You studyc the Scriptures diligently because you think that in them you have eternal life. These are the very Scriptures that testify about me, 40yet you refuse to come to me to have life.

41“I do not accept glory from human beings, 42but I know you. I know that you do not have the love of God in your hearts. 43I have come in my Father’s name, and you do not accept me; but if someone else comes in his own name, you will accept him. 44How can you believe since you accept glory from one another but do not seek the glory that comes from the only Godd ?

45“But do not think I will accuse you before the Father. Your accuser is Moses, on whom your hopes are set. 46If you believed Moses, you would believe me, for he wrote about me. 47But since you do not believe what he wrote, how are you going to believe what I say?”

Ashley, tell me the story about the biological Father of Jesus and his relationship with the Husband of Mary, Joseph.  That one always has me interested.

I never said you cherry picked anything. I said you ignore the rest. This is evident by the fact you were oblivious to the fact that I in fact was addressing cherry picking and not cherry picking myself.

You in ignorance and lack of understanding raced in and accused me of cherry picking, ignoring the rest.

These kind of childish antics because someone doesn't agree with you when you dismiss stuff you know absolutely nothing about as bullshit are tedious at best.

You are free to believe what you like. Jesus prophesied this would be the case and in fact your attitude, in the last days. So it is no surprise. I have no problem that you have made that conscious decision. I also don't need to run around throwing hissy fits at you because your opinion differs from mine. I can accept you as you are.

Jesus also said the kingdom of heaven is within us.

Your conscience knows good from evil, and even the worst people in the world have one.

Lets make sure we avoid the New Covenant God made with man as that makes a fool of you. You must stay in the Old Testament and try a good cherry pick to satisfy your anger at having no salvation and being convicted by the Holy Spirit that you are a sinner.

Cruelties like receiving the free gift of salvation through God giving His only Son to pay the intimate price so you could receive eternal life , FREE. While you choose to bitch and moan how nasty he is. My goodness get a grip.

Your problem is you do

Burn Nonbelievers

“Suppose you hear in one of the towns the LORD your God is giving you that some worthless rabble among you have led their fellow citizens astray by encouraging them to worship foreign gods.  In such cases, you must examine the facts carefully.  If you find it is true and can prove that such a detestable act has occurred among you, you must attack that town and completely destroy all its inhabitants, as well as all the livestock.  Then you must pile all the plunder in the middle of the street and burn it.  Put the entire town to the torch as a burnt offering to the LORD your God. That town must remain a ruin forever; it may never be rebuilt.  Keep none of the plunder that has been set apart for destruction.  Then the LORD will turn from his fierce anger and be merciful to you.  He will have compassion on you and make you a great nation, just as he solemnly promised your ancestors.  “The LORD your God will be merciful only if you obey him and keep all the commands I am giving you today, doing what is pleasing to him.” (Deuteronomy 13:13-19 NLT)

So the next time some Christian tells you about the “love of God”, show them this page and ask them “Why does God want me to burn animals and humans?”

God has never needed or ever will need people, it’s people that need God and it’s people that need God to justify their heinous crimes through their actions.

If there is a God who came down in the form of a man and endured all that pain and suffering to rescue and free people from evil then I doubt he could commission such acts.

I would say the people that wrote the old testament wrote more than what God had commanded them.
