Yes.  The death penalty has no role in any civilised society.

Correct.

Told yez all plenty time... I oppose the death penalty... but sometimes I am sorely tried.....

I'm against the state imposing a death penalty because you end up with situations like the USA where you get a state govonor who tries to get elected on high execution numbers.

However if someone touched a hair on the head of any of my family I'd kill them slow

Now that I know - I am THE civilised man... but scratch too deep... and I am a raging amoral destroyer.  I choose not to go that way.

No. You gave a reason based on emotion.

I'm pretty sure when the judge sent Milat to jail he didn't use your name, why do you think this will be any different?

Of course he didn't.  He applied the Law with which, in that case, I agree.  But, if Australia ever introduced capital punishment, I'll be on the ramparts with the sign saying "Not in my name."

Hold it, bruvvas... I oppose capital punishment for many reasons I've outlined previously - but if some ghett did this to one of mine........ he wouldn't get to meet the hangman.

Civilised man says we do not do these things ... but when faced with an uncivilised 'man'..... there is a a basic instinct in Man to exact just reckoning....

Like all of you - I am both a civilised man and an ape with red, bleeding claws..... advice is to keep civilised men Civilised.....

In his case.... I would ensure he was in a secure institution and never released.....

If he got out, a Vendetta would be required....... lest he offend again.

How The Shaitan do 'mothers' get tangled with this kind of lunatic?   Cry Cry

Pity you lawyers didn't show the same passion every time some scumbag judge handed down an all too short sentence to some filth only to have them walk free and do it all again.

There are long list of child rapist who got to repeat their behaviour over and over thanks to what is done "in your name"

Nobody in this thread is advocating soft sentencing.

Seems a bit strange that you should mention it then.

What you lefties, judges included, consider adequate sentencing is in all reality very soft sentencing. That is why I mention it.

Don't don't want to kill them, fine; they still need to die in gaol.

That lefties and judges are the ones that cause most recidivism through soft sentence, not from my side of the divide, no. And it seems not you either, welcome aboard.

No bullsh1t excuses, this lowlife enters alive and leaves dead. That is the appropriate sentence.
