Trump versus Clinton - a race to the bottom
May 7th, 2016 at 9:29am

The world stands on a precipice as the battle of the century gets under way. Donald Trump versus Hilary Clinton.

Both bring incredible amount of 'baggage' into this contest.

Donald Trump, wild and brash and stating that he will 'bring America together'. Yet his campaign has been nothing but divisive with Trump threatening to deport whole slabs of citizens e.g. The Hispanics. He also has a 'fortress America' ideology.

His idea of solving the U.S.s' problem is to pull up the drawbridge and tell the rest of the world to take a hike. You can forget about America being the world's policeman under Trump.

This ideology is so dated it would be funny except for terrible ramifications.

With Hilary Clinton, this is a woman haunted by her own past. She made catastrophic decisions when Secretary for State resulting in American deaths abroad. There are more than whispers that the Clinton's ill fame when Bill Clinton was Governor of Arkansas...in the infamous 'Whitewater property gate' in Arkansas, which happened under his stewardship.

This really is a race to the bottom and I fear the world at large will be the loser.

Yes, both candidates are extremely underwhelming.

Trump strikes me as a Clive Palmer with real power.

Palmer appealed to people of his electorate as they saw him as a good businessman aiming to clean up politics (Now that was a laugh)

Heaven help us if Trump wins.

Perhaps the Conservatives Party needs a rogue non party Conservative Candidate to vote for as some are suggesting they would vote for Clinton rather than Donald

as I have said on another Trump thread.... the Don has got every American talking....a hell of a lot of American who have never voted before in  their lives maybe will come out this time and vote.....who knows...

you have to admit... when one votes one then has to accept the consequences.......

but if you dont vote you can spend your whole time whinging about what might have been...

it wasnt me....yeah right..

I havent been impressed with Obama I am sure he is a decent bloke...but not President material....

and the same goes for this pair...I am amazed a country the size of AMerica could not come up with better material than this...

trump looks like a walk in.. yet he has not one ounce of experience...in the field of Politics....at least Reagan was a Governor...

to be honest red I am not that interested in American politics its too confusing for me...all I know is they wield a lot of power across the globe...well they once did....

maybe its not a bad thing they are doing what they are doing..

selecting two people that a lot of people hate and will vote for the one they hate least....

thats pretty sad.....today if nothing else we need people in power with guts

doesnt matter whether you like the yanks or not...as a Super Power we need them on our side..I just hope it doesnt end up in a circus....which seems to me is the way its heading..with this pair.

Yes it is going to be an interesting ride whoever wins.

I do think whoever it is will find they are very restrained in what they think they can do or say once in office with all the establishment advising them.

Trumps mouth worries me even after saying the above!

it tells me a lot..

People will vote for ANYTHING>.

you dont have like or believe in them.. just someone says this is the best we have got...so be a good little vote and vote one of them in..

if the voters had any guts at all.. they would boycott the voting booths   just say its not good enough...

we demand better...

to be honest either one of them scares me a little...

and its the same with our own.....

I think I may have lost faith along the way. Roll Eyes

Well America is the land of the "working poor" anything must be better than what we have so to speak!

Along comes Trump!

Trump comes in  promising everything will be solved!

"We will be great again" whatever that means!

Jumps in on all the prejudices about Mexicans and Muslims

He will make all the allies pay their way!

he will get out of NATO!

He will bring Russia into line

OMG!
