Waleed is a sign of the times and his win is hardly surprising.
He is a king of the beta males.

All the beta males and anxious neurotic women want a beta male like waleed as their representative because it takes their focus off the fact that they are so mediocre.

Waleed offends no one.
He is a totally low status people pleaser.

When the population are mediocre, beaten down, self pitying and have no aspiration to push outside their comfort zone, then he is a comfortable choice to allow them to continue in mediocre purgatory.

If they chose some alpha male who was absolutley killing it in life, they would have to notice the contrast between the alpha and their own beta mindset.

By picking a fellow "scrub' they can avoid the pain of this contrast.

Waleed will never say anything really worth hearing
he will never say anything that really shocks the audience into a state of growth
he will never push them out of their miserable comfort zone.

Why??

Because he knows, THEY DONT WANT TO BE PUSHED

Really, so if you went to a town in western NSW where all the women wore a chaff bag over their heads with slits for eyes, and when you spoke to them they said 'oh we choose to wear it because it sets us free' but when you dug deeper you discovered they do it out of societal pressure.
