Gordy I understand the sentiment, but it is unfair IMO.

You are creating a false dichotomy - that your either wear the hijab and support oppression or don't wear it and support freedom. But there should be a happy medium. There's no reason why women shouldn't be entitled to wear it as a proud (and dare I say empowering) symbol of their religious identity - without being accused of being a de-factor supporter of oppression and a traitor.
