Ok let's sort something out.

Do you think there is a reluctance of the left to call out conservative Islam for fear of being called Islamophobic /racist?

Nope.

I think the starting point has been shifted so heavily into the camp of Islamophobia that it is all the left can do to remind the Islamophobes that Islam is not represented by terrorists or repressive regimes.

If you want to have a sensible discussion about Islam and the ways in which it is abused on the planet, you need to start at ground zero, not an hysterical, shrill banshee cry of "Muslim's baaaaad, mmmmm'k?".

I don't think all muslims are bad but I think Islam is a bad system.  Understand?

But you are obsessed with Muslims Gordy.

If a thread isn't about them you will bring them into it.

And you do not differentiate between Islam being "a bad system" and Muslims. Not in any of your posts.

Look at page 1 of this thread.

In any case, Islam is not a bad system. The way that some people have interpreted is bad. The way others have interpreted it is peace loving and altruistic.

It's a truly obhorant system.  The subjection off women, gays, stifling of free though.
Just look at Muslim countries, the proof is in the pudding.
The more conservative and extreme the brand of Islam the worse the culture.

Tell me Mothra,  which Islamic country would you like to live in?

The Middle East has been ravaged by war, puppet dictators, and international interference for decades.

Bad example.

But there is more going on there than just Islam. Iran and Afghanistan were always Muslim majorities but do you know how progressive they were before war came to town?

There was a splash of modernism that was transplanted there from the west.
It didn't grow there and it didn't last because it had no roots.

Look in the context of the age of  the universe there is no difference between us but on a human scale they are 500 years behind culturally.  That's a lot on the human scale
