There are many - however you agree that in the vast majority of polls - Australians support offshore processing and turning boats around?
The majority have always swayed to this.

There are many polls that can be posted to show this, here is one example

The Lowy Institute released its latest poll, conducted in February 2014, on Australian attitudes to a range of international issues. In relation to asylum seekers and refugees, the poll found:

71% agreed the government should turn back boats when safe to do so
59% support offshore processing in Nauru and PNG
48% agree with temporary protection visas, and 49% disagree -

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-3594952/Essential-Research-poll-finds-Australians-don-t-want-refugees.html

Almost three in four Australians do not want to see the country's refugee intake increased to help tackle the current crisis in the Middle East and Europe.

A new poll found just 28 per cent think the number of humanitarian arrivals Australia accepts should be increased from the current figure of 13,750, SBS reports.

An additional 12,000 refugees will be taken from the Syrian conflict

The poll, conducted by Essential Research, also found that 59 per cent of those surveyed believe immigration to Australia has been too high over the last decade.

Only 38 per cent said they agreed that, 'accepting refugees is something a wealthy nation like Australia should do to support poorer nations.'

However, the poll results weren't entirely against immigration, with 62 per cent saying they believe multiculturalism and diversity has made Australia a better place.

The results also outline one of the key voter sentiments ahead of the Federal Election, with 41 per cent saying they would 'trust' the Liberal Party to have the right policies on immigration, compared to just 28 per cent who would 'trust' the Labor Party.

Just because refugees are country hopping and trying to get to Australia - it doesn't make them our problem.

If I am on my way to New York and I have a crash going to the airport in England, does it make it the United States responsibility to help me out - purely because I was heading there?

No.  There is no UN Convention which covers that.

It all boils down to the basic fact that we are a signatory, and we have not repudiated.

As are France, who also completely ignore it and push them through their border.

I'm not French.  The Frogs are not my political problem.

Its not a problem.
They are responding to the wishes of their populace.

As are both Australian political parties if you look at what the majority of Australians want in polls.

Have they polled any Yarpies?

In England?

hang on! aren't the libs always crying that they don't want refugee's because they sit on the dole for the rest of their lives?

I think the libs are confused again ... either they are taking our jobs, or they're on the dole ... they can't be both. Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy

more importantly, if the illiterate and innumerate can steal jobs then what is Dutton saying about Australian labour?

Pretty much the same thing I have thought about the average Australian floor worker.

From my experience of rank and file workers in Australia, they seem pretty quick to mouth

Penalty rates
Overtime
Long service leave (seriously wtf is that....)
Annual leave
It's my day off
Come in on a weekend? What do I get out of it?

Etc etc etc

your antisemitic nonsense is not needed. It doesn't even make sense why you would be - the jewish people have a lot more in common with you than the terrorists you victimise, who would chop off your head in an instant.

Andrei calls refugees "rubbish people".

Apart from the ones in WWII.

You know who.
