I think that the greens have a place in politics..

if only they'd get back to their core roots...

people can see that we are ruining the world for future generations.. and they will vote green even if they are loopy..

and if we continue to pollute and poison our world then the greens will continue to get votes...

That is a very astute observation from you.
If you wanted to take that further you can blame Labor for the Greens so called " loopy" policies.
If Labor had not lurched so far to the right in order to take on the Coaltion the Greens would not have had to broaden their polices so much.
The reality is that today's Labor party are to the right of every Coaltion government before Howard.
So many Greens voters are like me and just disaffected traditional Labor voters looking for a party that still represents their beliefs.

The Greenies' tenuous hold on their inner city drug addict supporters started its downward slide from the moment Bob Brown quit.

Bob Brown WAS the Greenies.

...

The Greenies downward slide to extinction continued at a rapid pace with the ghoulishly gruesome Greenie Matriarch who made people's skin
crawl.

...

And now we have the Greenies' Dumb Doc Dick who makes people feel sick in the stomach.

The facts are that the original greens were taken over by the hard Left who saw them as a political opportunity.  They chased out most of the conservationists and real Green environmentalists and populated the party with socialists with a progressive left agenda for social reform.
