Assange on Clinton

WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange says his team’s upcoming leaks about Hillary Clinton could be enough to “proceed with an indictment,” but he’s not so confident that will actually happen.

“We have upcoming leaks in relation to Hillary Clinton,” he told Britain’s ITV. “We’ve accumulated a lot of material about Hillary Clinton. We could proceed to an indictment.”

As the presidential campaigns turn toward the general election, Donald Trump and the Republican Party will use the fact that Clinton is currently under FBI investigation for her use of a private email server to their advantage. And, regardless of his political persuasion, Assange and WikiLeaks may aide the GOP in doing that.

Assange has been a long-time critic of Clinton, who he once said “has a long history of being a liberal war hawk.” However, he is not convinced any amount of information will actually lead to an indictment of the former secretary of state.

The WikiLeaks publisher told ITV anchor Robert Peston that, “unfortunately,” U.S. Attorney General Loretta Lynch is “not going to indict” Clinton, adding, “That’s not possible that could happen.”

Instead, Assange argued, the FBI will not indict the Democratic candidate in exchange for favors, should she win the White House in November.

“The FBI could push for concessions from the new Clinton government,” he said.

However, Assange did say there is “very strong material, both in the emails and in relation to the Clinton Foundation.

During the same interview, Roberts pushed Assange on Trump, asking him if he prefers the billionaire businessman to Clinton.

In response, he said, though he finds Trump to be somewhat “unpredictable,” he believes Clinton is a “problem” for the freedom of the press.

We have all heard the old saying, absolute power corrupts absolutely. I think corruption is common at all levels of power. Assange is an interesting case, because his position is essentially anti-establishment, anti-power structure, yet he finds himself in a position of power because of information he claims to have. The availability of this information he says is in the public interest, and he argues for total transparency in government. He is playing the power game, by using the media to threaten H.Clinton with what he might do. He often claims to have information we don't get to see. I don't know how that fits his philosophy of transparency. He should put up, or shut up.

if he has so much.,... and it is so damning... wouldnt it be his duty to release it.....???

here we have people claiming they have all sorts of stuff to hang people with... yet.. he doesnt use it to blackmail America into allowing him to go free....

if Assange was such a good guy he would release what he has and be damned......let America judge Clinton not him....btw I wonder how much he was paid for the interview...I am afraid Assange is past his use by date.
