Wrong again.

At the beginning of its use, 'Wog' carried no connotations of abuse or insult with it, and referred only to the young Indians who went to study civil service in the UK during the Raj.

Brian - I have read books on India, and as against the 'information' contained in cheap-and-nasty 'populist' sources such as 'Wikipedia', I think I'll stick with the version I discovered in the weighty tomes that were required reading at school.

Ask my Northern European Dutch neighbour if she and her husband were exempt from Aussies calling them 'wogs'.
