Whatever excuse the Muslims offer for Muhammed's ethnic cleansing.

Nah, you claimed they were innocent.  What of, freediver?  I am not here to clean up your wild accusations.  You make them, not me.

What kind of lawyer were you Aussie? People are not guilty until they can identify the charge of which they are innocent.

Muhammed slaughtered 800 innocent people. They were innocent regardless of how incompetent Muslims are at dreaming up an excuse for the slaughter.

Innocent of what, freediver.  You (not they) said they were innocent of something, and not me either.  What is it?  Don't you know?

Yes Aussie. Are you going to tell us about them being found guilty in some kind of court of justice now?

Nice round number and that is convincing in itself.  Seems I've seen you refer to 800 somewhere.  Anyway, what were they innocent of, freediver?

It used to be 200. The figure keeps going up.

FD’s innocent of year 9 maths.

It that it?

Yes.

I firmly believe, that if i freely enter into an agreement/covenant with another person [and thereby, freely agree to be bound by the terms of the covenant],
then i can't really complain, if i am punished or suffer a penalty, according to the terms of our agreement/covenant.

Is that logic so difficult to agree with ?

Aussie,

Do you believe it is wrong, and 'oppressive', if i suffer an [agreed] penalty/punishment, if i do NOT fulfill my part of an agreement [which i freely entered into] with another person/group ?

wally1,

Although the consequences were very harsh, all of those instances from the OT, relate to persons who would or were breaking a solemn covenant that they had made with another party.

Are you saying persons who make a [lawful] agreement, with another party, should not in fact have to honour their agreement ?

And are you suggesting that that there should certainly be no penalty, for those who do not honour their agreements ?

All of those instances from the OT, relate to penalties against covenant breakers.
[i.e. these are persons who knew that they had entered into a binding agreement, a covenant, with another party - in this case, their God.]

The OT records that the Hebrew people freely entered into a covenant, with their God.

"...And ye shall be unto me a kingdom of priests, and an holy nation. These are the words which thou shalt speak unto the children of Israel.
And Moses came and called for the elders of the people, and laid before their faces all these words which the LORD commanded him.

And all the people answered together, and said, All that the LORD hath spoken we will do....
"

Harsh ?

Yes.

But why is it 'not nice', or, why is it EVIL,   ...to expect someone to honour their legal agreements, or, expect to receive the appropriate punishment for NOT honouring an agreement ?

Anyone [in a Western nation like Australia] who has a mortgage on his/her home, has made himself/herself a bond slave, to the person [the lender of the money] who [actually] bought and owns their house/home.

THE BORROWER HAS SIGNED A LEGALLY BINDING AGREEMENT TO THAT EFFECT!

The borrower has legally made himself a 'bond slave' by signing a mortgage agreement.

[And there is [was] usually a clause in mortgage agreements that the lender can demand 'immediate' repayment of the balance of the amount owed. !! ]

i.e.
In the legal agreement they have signed, the borrower promises to pay back, the money that they have borrowed, plus interest.

If the borrower defaults on that promise, the lender or bank, can take legal possession of 'your' property. !!!

And yes, in those verses, in the NT, that refer to persons who find themselves in a circumstance where they are LAWFULLY slaves, the advice from Paul is that slaves should obey their masters!

Is that advice 'wrong' ?

In a modern 'context' why is it wrong, to expect someone to honour their legal agreements [as a 'mortgage slave'] ?

CONSIDER;
All adult moslem immigrants at their citizenship ceremony, are required swear an oath of allegiance to Australia and its people.

But what should be the punishment [should there be a penalty?], if we discover that, in fact, the moslem had no intention of abiding by his/her oath of allegiance to Australia [but he/she made the oath only because the moslem wanted to gain the benefits of being a citizen of Australia] ?

I know what i would do with them, if it were lawful.

treacherous = = guilty of or involving betrayal or deception.
