From a female point of view I don't believe the “irrational behaviour due to trauma” defence. Of course, anyone would be extremely traumatised after a gang rape but a normal reaction to said trauma would be to:-

1. Seek revenge on the perpetrators and bring them to justice; or
2. Withdraw and not report it at all.

Intentionally and hurriedly setting out to report the crime and to lay the blame squarely at the feet of innocent Germans in order to deflect the vicious actions of the true perpetrators does not, in my opinion, exhibit one iota of expected behaviour, traumatised or not.

It was a considered and calculated move which points strongly towards furthering her agenda. That makes her a part of the problem and she should be held accountable for her amoral behaviour.

Well i strongly disagree. I think it is perfectly understandable that she wasn't thinking clearly, as is verified by the fact she amended her statement 12hrs later.

If she wa"furthering her agenda", would she do that? Really?

She amended her statement and went back 12 hours later to tell the truth at a friend's instigation. The friend was worried that other women would also be abused, and rightly so.

She didn't all of a sudden grow a conscience. More than likely the friend was intending to tell the police the truth himself/herself in order to bring these animals to justice.
