There is more in this story than rape.

Got that right. The fact that she's Turkish and probably Muslim could play a big part in her actions.

Only after she was advised, told, instructed, to after her false and misleading information to the police about who the perps were and she didn't want to do that or it would not have needed a friend to twist her arm.

*sigh*

Not at first. In her own words, she lied to protect refugees from "racism."

And today?

Speaking about how this incident changed her worldview, Goren stresses she still puts the blame for such incidents more on “sexist society” than on individuals.

Ah, yes -- it's time for the cops to start arresting that "sexist society."

Pure speculation.

The other alternative is that she wasn't thinking clearly.

As is your sole defence of her actions as being in shock backed up with how you felt.

One's as much speculation as the other. Why can't you at least acknowledge that much?

No Setanta. Shock combined with how one would feel.

I'm quite frankly astonished that you would find that such a remote possibility.

No it's not speculation. Rape is traumatic. Pack rape even more so.

It;s a no-brainer that she was in shock.

It takes a considerable leap of logic to argue all of the points that you lot have.

Seriously, why would you be more angry at cops for asking a valid question than being upset at it to the point it made the news?

Guilting me won't work. I don't think it's remote. I think it was premeditated.

I'll get back to you on that but it shows to me a clear pattern of thought after being "offended" by the cop.

Guilting you? Hardly. Is that how you feel about my statements and questions to you? Telling.

Premeditated you say? That's why she made a correct statement 12hrs later? Really?

But your telling me she only did that because her arm was twisted. Seriously? What kind of friend twists the arm of a pack-rape victim?

More likely she was supported in making the right decision, when she was thinking more clearly.

Occam's razor, innit?

Actually, it doesn't take any leap of logic whatsoever to argue this point, which I've already made once:

From the American Academy of Experts in Traumatic Stress: "Women will react differently after sexual assault or rape."
http://www.aaets.org/article117.htm

Or this point, seeing as how it's confirmed by her own words:
Quote:
A German left wing youth movement activist admitted that she lied to police about a sexual assault and concealed the ethnicity of her attackers out of fear of provoking “more hatred” against refugees.

She thought about “refugee shelters burnt in the previous months” and wanted to prevent “her story from being exploited by racists,” Selin Goren, a national spokeswoman of the Linksjugend Solid movement, an offshoot of the German Left Party, told Der Spiegel. She also admitted that she was infuriated when a police officer asked her whether her attackers had been refugees.
