GP,

what's wrong ? You are not breathing fire and brimstone today and burning posters at the steak ?

It's only 6:30, and it's currently 0 degrees.

Give me time to warm up.

Once I get to the office, I'll be back in fine form.

Stay tuned ...

Shorty knows he is destined for the garbage disposal unit and, like a drowning man, he is grabbing at anything  to try to postpone his demise.

Shorty is rabbiting on about campaigning for his mythical next election that he would lose anyway.

Shorty is a classic case of the Peter Principle where a union brown noser is promoted to beyond his ability, you know, just like Gillard was.

juliar, I have been worried about Mr Shorten for some time now ever since I caught him going thru my garbage bin. I have contacted Sunnybank Rest Home and asked them to make a bed ready for a very disturbed patient.

The ALP, the progressive party, the party of ideas, the workers' friend, is the only Australian political party to roast four young Australians in roof cavities. SHAME! SHAME! SHAME!

Speculation on your part, dressed up to look like fact.  It might happen, it might not.

Now that the LNP has a majority (albeit a very slim one) I can’t see how an early election would happen.  I hope Shorten is not planning to do to the Turnbull government what Abbott did to the Gillard government.

While I do (with some reservations) agree with your assessment of Shorten, I think that, although Gillard did have union connections, she got where she did on her own merits.  Her problem was that she was hamstrung by a hung parliament and an opposition that didn’t know the meaning of the word constructive.  With the passing of time, I think her reputation will slowly improve and she will be seen as one of our better Prime Ministers, unlike Abbott, whose performance in the job makes Billy McMahon look good.

Wolseley,

you don't seem to be up on the Gillard Slater and Gordon saga.

Perhaps a little research might shock you into reality.

Yes, I do remember it, so there are no shocks there.

The Liberals lost 12 seats in the Federal Election and barely scraped over the line in a bunch of others.

This is not a win to be proud of this is like the survivor of a shipwreck finding a piece of flotsam to hang onto.

This is no mandate this is falling over the line stuff.

Shorten could well be right because there are huge conflicts in the Liberal Party.

The fact that Tony Abbott led them to a landslide win then Malcolm Turnbull very nearly put them right over the cliff.

Stand by for blow ups and trauma from this Government which will stagger around from crisis to crisis over the next three years, if they last that long.

Unless Turnbull is capable of the biggest comeback since Lazarus, his time at the top will be limited. The buzzards are circling already but at this stage he is walking around with a smile on his face, heavens knows why?

red B,

the Senate will be the big deciding factor.

Mal is a very bright successful investment banker businessman and he is ideal to figure out how to fix up Australia's financial position.

He's a hopeless politician, though.

He won't see out the three years.

Everything Red said is true.
