More Liberal rorting!

Link.

Quote:
An investigation has been launched into donations to two Gold Coast independent candidates from a Liberal National Party fundraising body run by former Turnbull government minister Stuart Robert.

It was announced on Tuesday that the Electoral Commission of Queensland (ECQ) and Crime and Corruption Commission (CCC) would examine the financial dealings from before the March 19 poll.

A number of complaints were received, including from the Queensland Government, who raised an issue over Mr Robert's LNP branch fundraising arm, the Fadden Forum.

It donated $30,000 each to two of Mr Robert's former staffers - re-elected independent councillor Kristyn Boulton and unsuccessful independent candidate Felicity Stevenson.

It just never stops.

Arseholes!

Where they....It appears as though they where sponsored by the LNP which would be a breach of disclosure....It is also appears as though property developers on the Gold coast are getting around the law and gaining favourable treatment for those they help get elected....Ass holes!!!

I think the bans on donations from property developers are a NSW thing. I don't see how the Gold Coast politicians could survive if they had to follow the same rules

Which is why it is important for anyone running for local government to divulge any vested interests....It is corruption at the lowest level!!!

Gold Coast mayor Tom Tate promised when he first ran for mayor that if elected he would sell his apartment complex (he owned the Islander Resort) prior to taking office. He didn't sell it until well after he become mayor, and only after he rezoning the land.
