Wow. You honestly didn't know Islam invaded Spain Shocked. I thought you were just playing some trick with the antecedent and this was a trap, but you really are that clueless...

Why do you even get into these discussions? It's like getting into an argument about engines with a mechanic and then admitting that you don't even know how to open the bonnet.

If you are a total ignoramus on a topic, sit back, watch, and try to learn something.

I didn't realise he was going back that far. Why would he? after all, anytime someone mentions attroicities from christian any more than 100 yrs ago you all come out with the 'that was then not now, argument' ... I should have guessed you had two rules one for your side, one for the other.

why do you even respond? Lets face it, it doesn't matter what anyone says, your mind is made up. You don't want a discussion, you want indoctrination. You are not better than the Mullahs that go around telling people that killing infidels is the only way. I bet they also use the argument that anyone who disagrees is ignorant. Your real problem is that you and the fanatics are blood brothers.

You didn't know Islam invaded Spain. You even claimed to look it up and still didn't know Shocked.

Yet again you get into a conversation regarding history and religion with no Fuking idea about either. The fact that you think that anyone criticising Islam makes them no "better than the Mullahs that go around telling people that killing infidels is the only way" is proof of that.

That's rich from a member of the; 'it's all the west's fault' and 'it ain't got nuffin to do with Islam' defence league.

Because you have an inability to analyse the atrocities because of your lack of understanding of history and religion.

Part of how the Catholic Church became such an evil force wanting to control all was itself linked to the centuries of war with Islam. It's no shock that Spain became the most militant Christian nation in Europe having been invaded and conquered by Islam centuries earlier. You talk about the impact the west has had on Isalm, yet can't see how Islam shaped the west as well.

Likewise, you can't see the difference between those who act in a way counter to their claimed beliefs and those who act in full accordance with their beliefs. Hence why people can point to a catholic priest in our society today and ask "where the hell does Jesus tell you to molest children? No where! In fact he says to not hurt a child or you will suffer judgement". But it also why someone can look at ISIS and say "what they are doing is perfectly consistent with what Muhammad told them to do".

The inability of the Muslim apologist to analyse both current and past events is clearly asking too much. It has to be; "it's got nuffin to do with Islam... But look at Christians, they're just as bad" because they have no Fuking idea what they are talking about.

It was brought up because you equate the impotence of Muslims with benign intent, insisting for example that ISIS for example would not expand if given the opportunity. Invading the west is what they do when they have the ability to. They destroyed most of western civilisation, and with the exception of Spain kept it that way. And the fact that Spain is not some Muslim hellhole backwater is an affront to Muslims to this day, to the extent that they consider it their collective religious duty to reconquer Spain, as it 'belongs to Islam'.

But in this case, you were ignorant, right John? Furthermore, your ignorance shaped your views and lead you to blurt out some absurdly naive notions on global geopolitics.

no, it was bought up because you, s usual, have to resort to the ridiculous.

ohh, and would you care to show me where I insisted that Isis would not expand if given the opportunity?

not quite FD .. Just like I don't shape my views on Islam based on 1300 yr old wars, I also don't shape my views on the Italians because of Ceasar, I don't shape my views on the French based on Napoleons antics, I don't judge the Spanish because of Ferdinands  actions and so on.

Why is it so rediculous to consider the consequences of your actions?

Not letting it shape your views is different from not even knowing about it. You did not know about it. Hence, you were ignorant. Agreed?

Furthermore it was a war that defined Islam. You do realise that Muhammed is a 1400 year old warmonger, don't you? And that the 'rightly guided Caliphs' that followed him were also warmongers? And that Islam was his recruiting tool for his wars? It's pretty hard to ignore Islam's history when judging Islam don't you think? Particularly when modern Muslims consider it their religious duty to continue or recreate those same wars.

The Italians do not equate caesar with God John. Same with the French and Spanish. Do I really have to explain this to you?

Ok, so we're consider consequences that far back only when it's in relation to Islam. Any other religion and it's 'that was then, this is now'?

no, I knew about that one ....  I just didn't think anyone would be stupid enough to use a 1300 yr old war as their basis for determining today's global political climate

ahh ... so now we don't use ancient wars as guide to determine future events, unless there is a god involved? Do you make these rules up as you go FD?

People still consider the actions of Jesus relevant to Christianity. I'm pretty sure that Muslims consider the actions of Muhammed and the rightly guided Caliphs relevant to Islam. Abu certainly does. Why shouldn't we?

And yet that is exactly what Muslims do.

We consider them relevant when people make them relevant. If Muslims would drop the whole Muhammed thing, so would everyone else.

It's really not that complicate John.

not sure why you keep going on about Abu , you've mentioned him a few times now ... is he a member of this forum If so? why is what he thinks any more relevant than the millions of other opinions that differ to his?

people?   ... from what I've seen, they're only relevant when you decide they're relevant.

So everyone will drop it if Muslims cease to believe in Islam? Cheesy Cheesy

a lot of people agree with Sonia

Yes the race based red necked view is always popular - never right but popular.

Like the Howard children overboard lie won an election, it has always got the job done with the Vietnamese in the 70's , 80's and prior to that the wogs and spics in the 50's and 60's.

As an example of how these wars shape the opinion of modern Muslims. Haven't I explained this several times already? Let me know if it is still unclear.

They all consider Muhammed to be relevant. I'm pretty sure they also recognise the rightly guided caliphs, but feel free to ask.

It sounds stupid, but you are the one who cannot get his head around why Muhamed is relevant to Islam.

Ohh, I understand his relevance. .. what I don't understand is how you think they should stop reading about the central character in their religion. Next you'll be telling me to read the wizard of oz but I should delete any reference to dorothy first  ...
