Should Australia eliminate all its beaurocracy?
Jul 22nd, 2016 at 8:35pm

While were at it, should the government get out of our lives entirely?

I don't want government in my life?

Will never happen.

The system is too large,
Too many people with too much power will kill too many to hold onto that power.

Politicians and public servants have proven many, many times that they will commit genocide before relinquishing any power.

Not even worth thinking about.

And killing them off would be like stamping on ants, there are always more of them and they just get angrier when you try.

You don't want armed forces to defend your possessions, country and lifestyle? Your family, your friends? You don't want roads and water? Hmm. OK. Somalia has next to no govt, perhaps that may suit? Undecided

Is it just me or is there anyone else who suspects we are doing this libertarian's homework?

I have this feeling that libertarianism is rather stone age, it ignores all progress of man in the name of my cave is my castle.

edit: At the same time as ignoring that it was a tribal cave and stone age life was socialist, what is best for the clan.

Megan, you have to spell out exactly what you are talking about. The bureaucracy is essentially the civil service. The government is made up of the blowhards we vote for, to form ministries which could change over night.

Good thing about a small village in the bush, there's nothing here to govern. "You're on your own", a neighbor told me when I first made the move from the big city. "That's the way I like it" he said

It takes a few years to get used to the new independence and learn a few survival tricks, but there's not a politician, bureaucrat or cop in sight all year round

Not in the least, I'm pretty well off (through my hard work). Control is reversed here, I control things, that's the difference

I wasn't commenting on your circumstance, it was your ideas, your outlook.

edit: There are a many who make a good living being hippie in this region. Perhaps you could bring your expertise?

Oh ok, I talk to the animals. The spiders are passive, the way they act, I think they would lick you rather than bite. Not keen on the kangaroos pooing in my yard though at night

That's weird, hey. I talk to animals too, do they answer you? Bastards don't answer me.

How do they escape the tax man? they'd be inviting bureaucracy or cops to knock on their lean-to if they made over $18,000
