I was dating a TV celebrity who made her name advertising a certain product, but broke it off when I discovered she was secretly sniffing or injecting some sort of illicit drug each and every day - and then turning into a monster.

Such fascination by forum members with famous people, I wonder if any of that celebrity status 'rubbed' off on them........I doubt it......

Life's Journey is not to arrive at the grave safely in a well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, totally worn out, shouting,
"Holy Sh!t ... What a Ride!"

I quit the relationship with my clothes smelling of marijuana or something equally suspicious.

Does that count?  Cool

What have been your brushes with fame?

The wife and I met Gough Whitlam in a gallery in Venice in 1998 and had a chat, my missus said

"Hello Mr Whitlam, we are from Australia!"

"He said in a sort of condescending manner "I know that!"

Anyway overall the chat was friendly though!

You should have shirt-fronted him for being on a junket on the taxpayers' dime.

He was probably just using up his quota of free flights.  Grin

You should have grabbed him by the lapels and head-butted him while your wife gave him a stiff kick in the gollywhoops with her Ugg boots ...

Interesting, but I'm sure you misread his body-language.

No, I watched him for almost an hour (while waiting for a plane) and not a single person spoke to him or even acted like they recognised him ....the look on his face was definitely disappointment .

It would be one of the major down-sides of being a celebrity

many celebrities crave the attention .
