Media self-censorship in the west

What gets to me is how the media have dealt with the throat-cutting of the French priest.
It hasn't been a discussion of how this shows the true nature of the Islamic attack in Europe, ie that we see clearly it is a renewal of religious war as well as cultural war.

No, it's been personalised. It has, as it so often does, become all about what went wrong with these people to make them do this.
What the f ck! Nothing "went wrong". They are the jihadist enemy that's all. They started a guerilla war years ago.

This is the media censoring what we understand. They know we've heard about it, the best they can do for damage limitation is to talk about it tangentially.

They do what they can to shut stories down of course, such as with all the sex attacks in Germany and Sweden.
They haven't mentioned the flood of weapons that have been available to the human trash as they rolled through the Balkans
You have to search carefully to find the truth because it's not served up to you in the mainstream media. They tell you only what they want you to hear, like Hillary should be elected, never anything contrary to their collective philosophy, like open borders, multiculturalism and how wonderful all kinds of diversity are.

The media is the enemy of the people now, not their friend or a pillar of freedom.

thats a bit harsh..boges.... who knows maybe the media have been told to back off... some people get off on the exposure.. and it also gives others ideas....sometimes we talk far too much about something as if thats a cureall....

give them less coverage and lets see how that goes...

the media are not free reign.. they do have a certain amount of govt control or at least laws governing them...

Well of course in some places what viewpoints are put out in the media are a combination of govt control and self-censorship.

We have come to expect a free press in the west but this is not necessarily true. It's not true in Germany certainly. There the suppression of news and opinion is a combination of govt dictate and acceptance that it is proper to follow what the govt wants.

And in the new media anything goes. What has gone on in Facebook news feeds during the presidential campaigns is the total opposite of what we expect by way of balance.

And coming back to the situation in France, I understand the govt there has decreed that the names of terrorists should not in future be published.
We can only wonder about the purpose of this.
Is it:
- as they claim, to prevent their names being glorified among the jihadi population
- to prevent the risk of reprisals against their families
- to stop them, if possible, being identified as muslims?

German media is being sanitized.

It happened a week ago, but the police kept quiet about the incident and the church management did not file a complaint, it has only just come out: last Friday a 19-year-old Afghan stormed into the Versöhnungskirche [Church of Reconciliation] at around 7.20 pm in an open community evening in the Eilbek district of Hamburg. He threw chairs and benches around, kicked over a Bible stand, splintered the glass and threw hymn books onto the ground. According to an eye-witness, the church-goes present were very afraid and let him continue his destruction. No wonder, he was wearing swirling Islamic dress, which might have hidden a suicide belt.

The Muslim did not speak during his destructive rage and also had no connections to Salafists, therefore the State Protection department of the state criminal prosecution agency assumes there was no "Islamist" motive.

...Eyewitness Peter H, who sent PI the photo of the Afghan attacker, reports that he asked the Muslim in front of the church why he had done it as he ended his affray. The Afghan then screamed the answer: "Because I am a Muslim!"
