Nauru disgrace.
Aug 10th, 2016 at 7:30pm

Given all the concern about child abuse among the Aboriginal Communities as is demonstrated here (<<< link) will I hear the same outrage about what is happening here:

Link.

Quote:
The Guardian’s analysis of the files reveal that children are vastly over-represented in the reports. More than half of the 2,116 reports – a total of 1,086 incidents, or 51.3% – involve children, although children made up only about 18% of those in detention on Nauru during the time covered by the reports, May 2013 to October 2015. The findings come just weeks after the brutal treatment of young people in juvenile detention in the Northern Territory was exposed, leading to the Australian prime minister, Malcolm Turnbull, announcing a wide-ranging public inquiry.

And much more in the link.

Ferk you Dutton and Turnbull ~ not in my name!

Is it any more or less complex than the situation being discussed about aboriginal children?

I don't know when they arrived and that is entirely irrelevant.  The Reports refer to events during the Abbott/Morrison/Turnbull/Dutton regimes.

You okay with children being abused at Nauru, cods?

well I think it is... because Aboriginal in custody are our responsibility....they are members of our country and we should not treat our children like they have been treated..

now as far as I can make out... these children shocking if its true...half the time it isnt....are being abused by their own.. not by Australian govt officials...

are you saying these children would never be abused in their country of birth.. because I find that hard to believe....these children did not get on a boat by themselves.....yet suddenly there is zillions of them....

what are we meant to do take them away like the stolen generation and make another do for our own backs.......how about we jail the perps....

or better still sympathy from ozpol members seem to do a lot of good... Roll Eyes Roll Eyes Roll Eyes

Any concern about what is happening to kids (and women) we have plonked on Nauru?

If Australia starts buckling and taking in asylum seekers the boats will start up again aussie. It's a stand off. We've been over this a million times.
