No matter what you think about boat people, the fact that children are being failed by each and every one of us should and must be cause for outrage.

Unfortunately these children are either too much of the wrong complexion or simply a member of the wrong religion

Or perhaps a bunch of liars. Or maybe they come from a culture where child abuse is commonplace.

It's damned if you do. Damned if you don't. If authorities take children out of abusive parental control, the parents will pull a "stolen generation" on authorities. If the authorities leave the children with their parents, the abuse continues.

thats true, but they dont need to indulge in any criminal activity in order to be detained. Entering Australia without a visa is not a criminal offence, there are no penalties under law for doing so. Anyone who does so however is able to be lawfully detained and if appropriate sent back.

Correct.

And I have never said anything to the contrary.

Finally, we agree.

Its all sematics and twisting of words.
This is done to hide indisputable facts that are easily stated in simple words.

But politicians, lawyers, public servants who want to retain their jobs and generate income manipulate the words and meanings to their own agendas.

Simply put.
These people have attempted to enter Australia without Australia's permission.
They have deliberately traveled through many countries where they could have escaped the "Alleged" persecution, but these people are not trying to escape persecution, they are looking for a free ride.

In addition, Indonesia is a predominantly Muslim country, so their sick cult would be quite accepted there.

These country shoppers look at all the available benefits that countries stupidly give them should they manage to slime their way in. They select the one they think will give them the best deal, that is purely and singularly the ONLY criteria.
They have no intention of working, contributing or assimilating, they just want something for nothing.

Call them what you like, asylum seekers, illegal immigrants or just plain parasites.
No matter what you call them they are not of any benefit, use or asset to any country.
Again, France, Germany, Sweden, the USA and Australia are being inundated with this worthless parasitical group of bludgers.
They see our compassion as a weakness and they intend to take advantage of it.
They see that we care about children and women, so they play on this compassion.
In their world, women and children are abused, murdered, raped and beaten without any thought.
But they see our compassion as a means to an end.
The number of children forced onto boats by their parents, with the intention of using them as a means of entry into our country increased when they thought this was working. How many children died because of this?

We are not responsible for them, they are responsible for their own predicament.
We give them comfortable, if not 1st class, accommodation.
We give them access to phones, gaming machines, plentiful food of their choosing and even an air conditioned place of worship.
Do they thank us?    NO
They abuse us, they damage their accommodation and then complain about it.
They abuse their own children, women and complain about it.
They self harm and complain about it.

We do not need this type of person in this country.

Incorrect. The permission is sanctioned in the UN Convention.

Neither illegal nor wrong.

They're simply aiming for the best.

An admirable quality.

Complete nonsense.

This myth has always baffled me.

Perhaps you could shed some light on it.

Why do you think a "real refugee" is necessarily poor?

You do realise that a multi-billionaire can be a refugee, don't you?

The amount of money one has, or doesn't have, is not a determining factor for refugee status.

I think the word you might be looking for is "pauper".

More semantics  Roll Eyes

Country shopping economic migrants are not "real refugees".

Nope.

Just more facts.

Debate me on it, if you wish.

I assure you that you'll lose.

Nice try. The illegal immigrants in Austrlia who arrived by plane in the main did not enter illegally. mainly visa overstayers whom were granted a visa for legal entry, then overstayed thereby becoming illegal.

Nice try?

I'm just stating the facts.

Those people - who came by plane - are illegal immigrants.

Asylum seekers and refugees are not.

Snap. The asylum seekers and refugees entered illegally without visas. The visa overstayers did not.

Asylum seekers are not illegal immigrants.

Refugees are not illegal immigrants.

No matter how the visa overstayers entered the country, they are illegal immigrants.

These are the facts.

So called Asylum seekers and Refugees who try enter Australia "illegally" ... and or by deception

are illegal migrants.

Fly in .... claim asylum on arrival ... your status will then be decided if genuine

and the authorities will have the added bonus that you would have ID, travel visas/passports

which in turn would expedite processing.

There is no such thing as a "so called asylum seeker".

If you say you're claiming asylum, you are an asylum seeker.

No ifs, and no buts.

Completely incorrect.

In most cases, asylum seekers don't have the luxury of getting a passport, a visa, and clearance from their native country in order to claim asylum in another country.

I'm not sure you actually understand what a refugee is.

Only if their country takes them back. If not they go to offshore detention to fight the natives.
