Mandatory  detention is a function of screening maritime arrivals who like to ditch their passports. We've  been over this a million times. You don't  have an alternative that maintains the border security requirements  that most Australians demand. Classic keyboard warrior politics; attack the best policy that  EITHER party has come up with without offering  ONE SINGLE suggestion.

Do you have a PERFECT solution?

The only  answer i can think of is to review the policies and the behaviour of the staff of detention centres. Work on improving the living conditions of detainees while they are being processed as the end game rather than having an open border policy by proxy  which is the only answer EVER to come from the left.

Yes a flaming disgrace!

Hang your heads in shame you assholes on both sides of politics!

I have had enough!

i would tend to agree.
after the fantastic work done to house, educate and look after the health of these people, i find their lack of gratitude quite disgraceful.
i would think they should fall to the floor , crying tears of joy and thanking every citizen from the wonderful country of australia for supplying these resources.

Good idea.

How's the working out so far?

Work on?

Just do it!

Not from this lefty.

I don't want open borders.

In fact, I would like to see less immigration.

There is no perfect solution.  Pragmatism rules.  Keating knew that, Howard knew that, Rudd knew that.

Having to put up with Peels blatherings would constitute
"cruel and unusual punishment" . They would be happier at Guantonomo

When, though?

All they've said is it's closing.

They've given no time frame.

Just more talk from Turnbull.

Better to allow 10,000,000 to die now until they can reach a manageable level.

Unless one of them was a child of yours, of course.

Exactly.
Because I would not have a child if I knew there was no chance for a decent life for that child.

That is the difference,
I think before I force my wife to have child after child after child, just because I cannot or will not control myself.

Tell that to the parents of one of the children you want to die.

Tell that to the child.

Do you honestly think the parents give a F$#k.
As I stated, I would not have children if I knew that child was not going to have a chance at a reasonable life.
These deadbeats just keep on having children, knowing that they face a bleak and probably horrible future.
They obviously care not one tiny little bit for the children they have, other than as a means to possibly extort more aid from bleeding hearts and idiots who continue to feed the growing monster.

Yes I would tell them to their faces that what they are doing is disgusting, immoral and that they are the worst creatures on the planet for deliberately bringing a child into this life with no future at all.

As for the child, just look at the eyes of these poor children, they already know.

That's easy.

We will do what we always do, send them lots and lots of cash for doing absolutely nothing.
We are real good at that.
Just need to fleece the Australian taxpayer a bit more so we can send the money overseas to people who hate us.

Whats that I hear?
Fix the hospitals, schools, roads, help the homeless in Australia and use the money to help Australians?

NEVER, cant do that can we

That's right, we are all racist bigots who do nothing for anyone aren't we?

We do that every day.

It's not a case of one or the other, you know.
