The Reports refer to events during the Abbott/Morrison/Turnbull/Dutton regimes.

You seem to have forgotten some.

'More than half of the 2,116 reports – a total of 1,086 incidents, or 51.3% – involve children, although children made up only about 18% of those in detention on Nauru during the time covered by the reports, May 2013 to October 2015'

He also forgot who legislated to put them there and ensuring that they would never ever be settled in Australia.

I dips me lid to Rudd and Labor for stopping the boats.

Yeas, the Reports do cover just 4 months on the Labor Party being in Government.  We have had three years of Liberal control of what happens there.  I don't care who legislated they go there.  As we put and keep them there, we must ensure no-one is abused there.

Do you not care that children are being abused there, or does your concern only come to the surface when you have an opportunity to abo bash?

I told you, I weep nightly.

PS clown, check my last 25 posts, or beyond if you can use the forums search function.  Post my abo bash.

But as you brought up bashing, and accusing me of an abo bash,  ain't you the bloke who bragged that you would bash a woman? Grin Grin Grin

Mods, that's was a fair riposte to the clown accusing me of abo bashing.

The clown must have a short memory of his disgrace.

I notice that most of the reports come from children, who are a small minority of the detainees. It's entirely possible that these children are being coached in what to say to authorities by their parents or other adults on the premise that complaints by children will make for better press and engender more sympathy.

Any concern about what is happening to kids (and women) we have plonked on Nauru?

How come I get left out of the Equation?

Let them eat cake! I say.

Is that the same as saying, "Let the kids be sexually abused?"

(You were left out because you did not jump on the abo bash in the Cartoon Thread.)

It's a disgrace that the women and kids are not isolated from the men.

Exactly.  Women's and childrens should be kept separated from rest of the rapeugees.

Why aren't the rapists being immediately returned?

Roll out a Cyclone fence to isolate the men from the women and children.

Because they have 'Human Rights' just like the police chief said about Man Monis when he was in the Lindt cafe.

Women bashers aren't all bad - many of them are simply deeply troubled men who have strong women who stay by their side.

You're not trying to cover up child abuse, are you?

If they hadn't tried to jump the que, they would not be there.
If they had not tried to enter Australia ILLEGALLY, they would not be there.
If they had not paid people smugglers to get to an easy touch country and not just stayed in Indonesia, they would not be there.
If they had not country shopped and actually went to the first country that they could to allegedly get away from the trouble, they would not be there.
If they had the guts to fight the evil people who were destroying their country, they would not be there.

In short, they would not be there but for their own greed, fear, weakness and complicity.

Send them back, they are not wanted.

Refugees have no right to abuse children. While I can sympathise with the victims, the perpetrators have no reason to imply that being detained on Nauru has incited them to commit offences. Your implication is that being in detention has caused this situation. What you naively want to avoid is the fact that refugees from the Middle East have low morals, when it comes to taking care of children. If they sought asylum in another country, you would not hear about the abuse of children, because that other country would not share that kind of information with an Australian. If these 'refugees' were released in Australia, they would still be abusing the children. And then they probably would go after the Australian children. Of course, you would probably be shouting loud and long about how psychologically scarred they were from being looked after in accommodation.

Given all the concern about child abuse among the Aboriginal Communities as is demonstrated here (<<< link) will I hear the same outrage about what is happening here:

Link.

The Guardian’s analysis of the files reveal that children are vastly over-represented in the reports. More than half of the 2,116 reports – a total of 1,086 incidents, or 51.3% – involve children, although children made up only about 18% of those in detention on Nauru during the time covered by the reports, May 2013 to October 2015. The findings come just weeks after the brutal treatment of young people in juvenile detention in the Northern Territory was exposed, leading to the Australian prime minister, Malcolm Turnbull, announcing a wide-ranging public inquiry.

And much more in the link.

Ferk you Dutton and Turnbull ~ not in my name!
for an ex lawyer you dont seem to understand the meaning of the word "allegedly". Or are you trying to claim that anyone who is the victim of a claim of abuse is automatically guilty without charges or prosecution?

I doubt that. It would probably encourage Australians to be resolute about not wanting these asylum seekers in our community.
