It  is a HUGE black mark against Australian Governments and Australian people who sit back in their comfy chairs and speak absolute CRAP.

Nauru and Manus Island are atrocities perpetrated by us on refugees, and NO BS can excuse any of it.

I am totally disgusted by posters here who peddle fear and hate against totally defenceless men women and children held illegally and forced to live in inhumane circumstances BY US the people of Australia.

I find it very hard to understand HOW we can continue to let this happen.

All of you who make jokes and approve this utter breach of our obligations as decent human beings should be tossed out of Australia, cause you don't deserve to live here. YOU ARE  disgusting SLUGS and make me ashamed to be an Australian citizen.

AND SPARE ME the go somewhere else garbage... I want to be PROUD of how we treat people, not feel like a pariah for being Australian. Children particularly are victims here, BUT SO ARE the women and men , locked up and hidden away by OUR GOVT POLICY.

WE ARE RESPONSIBLE for such unbelievable behaviour we should be condemned WORLD-WIDE. AND we ARE being noticed around the world for this abhorrent regime . IT ISN'T a SECRET, no matter how much legislation the Govt creates to hide our foulness.

WE MUST SHUTDOWN THESE HORRIBLE CAMPS IMMEDIATELY.

Words fail me to express the horror of what we are doing.

What about abuse of aboriginal children which is well documented, in far greater proportion and which has been going on for ever. How about an inquiry into that?

Yes, what about the children? Won't somebody think about the children?

Needless to say claims of children being raped would have been advised by visitting luvvies as a ploy for getting transferred to the mainland.

We are responsible for the care of these people and we are failing badly, with this off-shore processing and indefinite incarceration of refugees in inhumane conditions.

Did you hear Dutton tonight on 7.30 Report. Disgusting piece of work, who cares nothing about the welfare of these people. It is not illegal to be a refugee.

. We must close down these detention camps and bring these people to Australia, and deal with them humanely.

Thats just it.

WE are not responsible.
The responsibility lies with the leaders of the countries from which they fled.
It lies with the gutless men who will not fight against this evil for their own family, but just run and leave it to others.
It lies with the criminals who kill, torture and molest people in these countries.
Basically the blame lies with the religion that creates hate, fear, and does atrocities to its own people for no other reason other than for some sick cult.

We are simply trying to prevent this unstoppable tide of cult fanatics from coming here and doing to our great country, what it has done and allowed to have done from where they come.

It would be a different matter if these people came here and worked, contributed and assimilated just as all the wonderful immigrants of the past.
Australia has always welcomed these great people, from any culture, but these ILLEGAL immigrants do not work (86% do not have jobs).
They do not contribute, they protest, insult and denigrate us to our faces, all the while indulging in criminal activities (Nearly every name mentioned in the papers for almost every crime is of their ilk).
They do not assimilate, they alienate, they isolate and demand rights they have no right to demand.

Bring back the days of good immigrants and send these deadbeats back, they have no place in civilized countries.

That is SO SAD. Sad

They are refugees trying to escape exactly the conditions you have described.
They are not illegals, they are refugees, and YES it IS our responsibility to care for them, not throw them into camps with utter disregard to their welfare.

Many of them are educated and more than willing to work. To generalise as you have is just not correct.  After yrs... mths  whatever in these hell holes WE have knowingly created, they are often so damaged and traumatised by the experiences they have suffered, because of US, they need a lot of care . WE create this, and your views are indescribably sad, and shows exactly what drives the pollies to try for political points scoring, abrogating responsibility and failing in all decent responsibility of care, that falls to everyone of us.

You should try to '"walk in their shoes"... try a bit of love and humankindness.. it'd be good for your cankered soul.

they are illegal immigrants who pass through a number of countries in which they can safely live before embarking on boats to australia. there is no equating them to the Vietnamese boat people who have been a net positive gain for Australia.

How do you reach that conclusion.?
There is nothing to say that if we accepted them properly, in the first place, that they wouldn't ALSO add value to our country.

It is just politcal point scoring, at huge human cost.

Sure there is, we have the example in our country already. Compare the asians to the middle easterners living here.

Why do you think all the people locked up indefinitely are Muslim?

You have some real info to support that? Like to see it. You just assume that.. I'd say you are just speaking from ignorance.  So, big ears tell us the breakdown of the cultures of the people held in detention offshore.
