The only men I have ever known that beat their girlfriends or wives couldn't beat up on another man so I guess they took it out on their other half.

Cowards is the word I'm looking for.

I don't think that's entirely true, there is more to it than that. My father was no coward, he lit up at the drop of a hat, not always good for family gatherings after a couple of my cousins got married to a couple of brothers, their hubbies knew how how to hit that fuse. A bit embarrassing. He boxed as a kid, served in Korea, did Judo in his 30's. He wasn't a coward but he would just flip.

I don't think I'd call Mike Tyson a coward to his face.

Fair enough, I'm talking from my own experience when I was a kid one of our neighbours who was a pip squeak of a man beat up on his wife, sometimes we could hear it across the fence.

A man should never hit a woman imo, that's just how I was brought up, there is no excuse.

A man I know was not a coward and often had full on fist fight at the pub and a heavy rep. Didn't stopping beating up on his wife and children daily to at least weekly when ever he thought she spoke out of line. A cowardly big man that could fight and beat most men.

I just don't understand how they can do it.

The OP gives your intent away, SN.  So.....nah.  You can talk to whoever wants to discuss the matter with you, and if you believe your audience is limited here, there are other places in this Forum where you can attract attention from a wider audience, and moderation of the matter will then be entirely out of my hands.

Don't thank me for this position.  You need to take that up with skippeeee.

Don't bring me into it. If you'd done as you were asked and deleted the lies written about me the threads would not have needed to be deleted.
The Gmods can back that up for that is exactly my request to them. I know more than you realise, I don't intend to share it here other than to say SN also knows what I'm saying is the truth.
Don't bother trying to engage me to get this removed again ozzzzz it will not work.
Suffice to say everybody at PA knows the truth. Cool
I ask any Gmods reading this that should lies about me be posted again I want them removed.
This thread is about When are men entitled to strike a women. My answer to that is never, unless it is to defend oneself from attack and then only to escape said attack. Certainly not because a man may disagree with something a women says.

It's obviously not cowardly. It's a psychological problem. Why some men have this I do not know but as I stated and you reiterated there are some tough buggers not afraid of anyone yet they still do it. Find another term. It's a bit like cowardly terrorist blowing them selves up to hurt others. Hurting innocents does not automagically make them cowards. Coward comes from "cow heart" as apposed to "lion heart".

Action was taken in accordance with your choice sent to me via a GMod.

Thread locked.

SN.....take the debate to some other Section of the Forum.  The bait is obvious, and it will not play out here.

This Topic was moved here from Relationships by Setanta.

Carry on, leave Aussie out of it. Here's your chance to make it a serious discussion, or not.

I do understand how threads get taken off topic but who complains about that. Roll Eyes Roll Eyes

. if that is a reason for deleting..... bugger wont just about mean all threads be disappeared in that case..

funny how we can have PERSONAL threads....no worries... but this is treated different... why is that?..

just clarifying..

Yes cods, there has been a couple of recent threads that needed to be, umm, tamed. Let's see if this one can remain somewhat civil and try and address the issue in a reasonable manner, you wouldn't complain about that would you?

Why is this thread treated differently? It hasn't gone off the rails yet, I hope it doesn't.

Ok think about this boys and girls.

There should be no difference for when you're entitled, or it's appropriate to strike either a man or a woman.

I once witnessed a long-term married relationship where the husband, a big bloke and quite physically strong, was continually being berated about his sexual performance, as well as being physically assaulted. He never responded. He was quite capable of punching a hole through his 'wife', and never did. He has stitches applied on many occasions.

Was he a good husband?

Or was he a bad role model for his kids?

All his kids were renowned for short fuses when it came to criticism from their spouses.

Should a man take abuse from a woman that he would not tolerate from another man?

Just askin'.

In the original thread I shared the story about the 200-pound+ fat dyke with a shaved head who threatened to kick my ass when I complained about her barking dog. I just looked at her. Yet I would have loved to lay into her. Had she taken a swing at me I probably would have fought back. In the end it I got back at her: back in July the police were looking for her and I helped them out and watched the scene unfold as they led her away in handcuffs ...

I think it's a fair question. I'd like to know if some of these blokes that think it's ok to hit a women would feel the same if it was their mother or daughter being hit.
