Clinton is damaged goods now

Particularly the Foundation, but also the issues of health, emails and the course Trump's new team have set him on have seen and will continue to see support among critical groups melt away.

When even Huffpo starts to ask questions you know something is wrong.

I said a little while back the polls were turning for Trump and I think we see more evidence of that. Thelatest poll has him ahead in Florida, he was 15 ppoints clear in Utah which Clinton had hopes for and he recently recaptured the lead in Georgia.

Of course much of the media will continue to pump out misinformation but I'm convinced the truth will come out in the wash. Reuters is particularly on a distortion path. I wonder how much leverage people like Soros have there.

The critical thing is the people see Trump out there every other day drawing large crowds and getting the anti-establishment message across. Clinton however continues to hide from the people and the media. Important segments of her support, millenials in particular, drift to the independent which is as good as a vote for Trump.

Early days yet but I think Trump has not been in a better position since the primaries.

The Wall Street Journal did an article on the 'Clinton Foundation' business model.

The Wall Street Journal are one of the better newspapers worldwide.
They just deal with the money side of things.
'Serious' people read The Journal

The last sentence in this article :- '.......... Then again, when it comes to dubious branding for profit, these latest emails make Trump look like a piker compared with Hillary.'

Take a June 23, 2009, email from Doug Band to Huma Abedin. In his email, Band noted that the Crown Prince of Bahrain (a “good friend of ours”) was asking to see Clinton. There are, of course, many ways to be a “good friend,” but one sure way would be to contribute between $US50,000 and $US100,000 to the Clinton Foundation, as the kingdom of Bahrain had done. Not to mention that the prince had also spent $US32 million on a scholarship launched through the Clinton Global Initiative.

Abedin responded that the prince had sought a meeting through “normal” channels but had been shot down. Less than 48 hours after Band had asked her, Abedin reported that “we have reached out through official channels.” The meeting was on.

It isn’t the only favour Band requested. A month earlier, he had emailed Abedin to ask her help in getting an English soccer player a visa to the US. The player was supposed to come to Las Vegas for a team celebration, but he needed a special interview with the visa section at the US embassy in London because of a “criminal charge” against him.

Because of this, the office of Democrat senator Barbara Boxer had refused to intervene. Band’s email made clear the request was on behalf of Casey Wasserman, a sports and entertainment exec who had contributed between $US5m and $US10m to the Clinton Foundation via the Wasserman Foundation.

These are only two of the many email exchanges in which Abedin was asked to intervene on behalf of some Clinton Foundation donor. These latest emails fit the same pattern as another batch released earlier this month, which showed Band asking Abedin and longtime Clinton aide Cheryl Mills for a meeting with a US ambassador on behalf of a foreign businessman, as well as seeking a job for someone he described as “important to take care of”.

Judicial Watch president Tom Fitton sums it up this way: “It looks like the State Department was outsourcing its work to the Clinton Foundation.”

The model worked well for the Clintons, and some believe the Clinton Foundation will be copied by other pols, who will set up spouses or friends with foundations in hopes of attracting the big dollars that they can use to advance their brands, reward their friends and operate as a de facto permanent political campaign — all under the garb of charity.

No doubt some will try, but no one will be as successful as the Clintons have been.

The reason is simple. The Clintons are a business partnership with something that no other political couple has to sell. True, all former presidents hit the speaking circuit and have charities and foundations. Even so, the Clintons are unique in having a former president with a spouse in play, not only as secretary of state but as a possible president herself.

If you are a foreign government or a wealthy businessman, a donation to the Clinton Foundation might look like an excellent investment at just about any price.

Quid pro quo is notoriously hard to prove in such cases, and we will never know what (if anything) Clinton or State delivered in return. We’re asked to believe that it was somehow an accident that so many of the millions former president Bill Clinton raked in from speaking fees would come from companies, countries or people who had business before a State Department run by his wife. The truth is, this was inevitable under the Clinton Foundation business model. And it beggars belief to think all these dollars were being given out without an expectation of something in return.

In the meantime, we are back to a presidential campaign in which Donald Trump’s critics attack his business record by pointing out that the New York City real-estate mogul doesn’t even own many of the buildings that bear his name. What he’s selling is the Trump brand.

Before you shed a tear for Hillary Clinton — ensnared yet again in a web spun by the Vast Alt-Right Wing Conspiracy — remember this: There is no “femme” without “fatale.” There is no martyr without sacrifice. There is no shattered glass ceiling without broken shards of glass.

Thus, her enemies from Moscow to Benghazi, from London to Manhattan rifle through all her purloined emails, the ones they were not ever supposed to see because she had hidden them, deleted them, destroyed them, even “BleachBitted” them. Indeed, hell hath no fury like a woman on a mission to destroy her yoga emails.
They paint a greasy scene in which the Department of State is transformed into a global shakedown scheme with the Clinton Foundation as the gatekeeper and “favor” maker around the world. It is an international crime syndicate run ruthlessly by the Clinton mafia.
Working ceaselessly around the clock in every time zone, the syndicate doles out favors and meetings in exchange for millions of dollars to the Clinton Foundation from anyone, any entity or any government willing to pay. The Clintons’ personal ATM is one hungry and indiscriminate beast.
Who knew downward dog could be so lucrative?

Donning her martyr’s veil, Mrs. Clinton never stops firing back. She is under siege from American right-wing groups. Right-wing Russians are afraid of her. Criminal hackers want to stop her. The hopelessly right-wing Associated Press is telling only half of the story correlating the connection between donations to the Clinton Foundation and “favors” and/or meetings with the secretary of state.

Only the Clintons would spend years stonewalling and refusing to hand over her schedules and other public documents, then complain that the full story doesn’t get told. Rest assured, the full story is even worse.
Now they feign contriteness. If Mrs. Clinton wins the election, we are told, the former president will quit the foundation. Really? Seriously? And I thought you said there was no conflict.

Truth is, there is no shame here. The Clintons are not contrite. In fact, they love all this attention for their crimes. They read all the press with enormous pride. In this gutter, they are like pigs in slop.

Bill and Hillary Clinton are the Bonnie and Clyde of American politics. They are brazen, they are greedy, they are shameless and they will never be sorry for any of it.
It is like Bubba during all the “bimbo eruptions.” He feigned shame, but the man knows no shame. Even when his libido was causing him serious electile dysfunction, Bubba couldn’t help but bask in pride over his conquests.

The Clintons are to American politics what their adopted son-in-law and protege Anthony Weiner is to the internet. He only pretends to regret getting caught sexting a picture of his “private” parts alongside his little child in bed to a woman in spandex he has never met.

In truth, the Weiner is proud of it all. He wants to share his “accomplishments” with the whole world.

But what does it say about a guy who is so creepy, debauched and self-adoring that even the internet is too decent and civilized a place for him? Indeed, if Bill Clinton had a son, he would look just like Anthony Weiner.

“The fact is, he just started walking over. I don’t think it was pre-arranged. He just started walking over and [even her security] can’t tell him, ‘you can’t do that.’

He walked in her plane for at least 20 to 25 minutes and the FBI is standing face to face with the Secret Service and just chatting on the hot tarmac like, ‘what the h*ll’.”

The meeting certainly doesn’t look good for Clinton and Lynch, especially after the FBI’s announcement earlier today.

According to an Associated Press report:

The FBI won’t recommend criminal charges against Hillary Clinton for her use of a private email server while secretary of state, agency Director James Comey said Tuesday, lifting a major legal threat to her presidential campaign.

Comey said that although the investigation found “extremely careless” behavior by Clinton and her staff in their handling of sensitive information, the FBI had concluded that “no charges are appropriate.” He said the agency believed that “no reasonable prosecutor would bring such a case.”

The announcement came three days after the FBI interviewed Clinton for hours in a final step of its yearlong investigation into the possible mishandling of classified information.

Attorney General Loretta Lynch said last week that she would accept the recommendations of the FBI director and of career prosecutors, meaning that Comey’s decision almost certainly brings the legal part of the issue to a close and removes the threat of criminal charges.

The announcement comes just a day after Wikileaks released 30,000 Clinton emails. Presumably, the emails were downloaded when Clinton’s email server was hacked.

According to the FBI’s notes,

110 of the emails they reviewed contained information that was classified at the time. Eight of those emails were flagged as being “Top Secret,” one of the highest levels of government classification.

It also follows a private meeting between Attorney General Loretta Lynch and former president Bill Clinton aboard Lynch’s government plane last week.

Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump immediately took to Twitter to vent his frustration at the whole situation.

Mrs. Clinton’s big-money ties to Russia, China, Algeria, Saudi Arabia and Oman, to name a few, are unprecedented for a U.S. presidential nominee, said George Washington University political historian Matthew Dallek.

“Obviously, this has caused some complications,” he said. “It is not helpful to her candidacy.”

He blamed Mrs. Clinton’s unique status as a former first lady and a confluence of trends, including the more interconnected global economy, increasingly robust post-presidential legacies and the rise of the presidential foundations modeled after the work of former President Carter.

“These forces have come together,” he said. “There will probably be more of these kinds of conflicts [for presidential candidates] going forward.”

The millions of dollars in foreign donations to the Clinton Foundation and enormous speaking fees that foreign entities paid former President Bill Clinton created potential conflicts of interest when Mrs. Clinton was secretary of state.

Those ethical quandaries could follow Mrs. Clinton to the Oval Office, said Hana Callaghan, director of government ethics at the Markkula Center for Applied Ethics at Santa Clara University in California.

“She has to convince the voters that she was not influenced by donations in the past, nor will she be influenced by donations in the future,” she said. “It’s up for the voters to decide whether that is going to affect her actions.”

According to Clinton Foundation disclosures, donations from foreign countries have included:

• Between $10 million and $25 million from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia;

• Between $10 million and $25 million from the Commonwealth of Australia;

• Between $5 million and $10 million from the government of the Netherlands;

• Between $5 million and $10 million from the state of Kuwait;

• And between $500,000 and $1 million from the Foreign Affairs, Trade and Development Canada organization.

Mr. Clinton’s income from speeches to foreign entities spiked when his wife ran the State Department, including a $500,000 fee paid by a Russian investment bank with links to the Kremlin and a $550,000 fee paid by a Chinese business group for a speech in Shanghai.

Speaking fees of $500,000 or more also were paid by business interests in Austria, Hong Kong, Italy, Japan, Nigeria and United Arab Emirates. Before his wife ran the State Deponent, the typical speaking fee paid to Mr. Clinton was $150,000.

Mrs. Clinton’s emails from her time at the State Department have shown that

some donors to the foundation asked for special treatment

, although it was unclear whether they received it.

Countries and foreign businesses that either gave to the foundation or paid hefty speaking fees to Mr. Clinton did prosper during her tenure. In one case the U.S. signed off on a deal that gave Russia control of uranium mines stretching from Asia to the Western U.S., including half of America’s uranium supply.

Republican nominee Donald Trump has his own conflicts of interest that need to be addressed, including reports about large debts that his real estate empire owes to the Bank of China, said Ms. Callaghan.

Those concerns have been fanned by Mr. Trump’s refusal to release his tax returns, as is customary for presidential candidates. The New York billionaire said that his lawyers advised him against releasing tax returns because he is being audited by the Internal Revenue Service.

Mr. Trump also has business ventures around the globe, such as his golf resorts in Scotland and Dubai. He said his business empire will be turned over to his children if he becomes president.

“Neither candidate is being as transparent as they should be,” said Ms. Callahan.

The big question is what will Mrs. Clinton or Mr. Trump do once they move into the White House.

“Once elected, a public official has an ethical duty to avoid even the appearance of impropriety. If former President Clinton were taking speaking fees from foreign governments, that would be a clear conflict and certainly raises the specter of impropriety,” said Ms. Callaghan.

Mr. Clinton recently announced that he would stop giving paid speeches if his wife wins in November. The Clinton Foundation also announced that it would stop taking foreign donations if Mrs. Clinton become president.

But Mrs. Clinton said this week that her husband should not have to step down before the election from his position at the Clinton Foundation, as has been called for by Mr. Trump and others.

“I don’t think there are conflicts of interest,” she told ABC News. “I know that that’s what has been alleged and never proven. But nevertheless, I take it seriously.”

Mrs. Clinton said that she was “very proud” of the work done by the Clinton Foundation, which has included providing low-cost HIV/AIDS medication to developing countries.

“He started this great work. He has made it his life’s work, after the presidency. And he has said, if I am so fortunate enough to be elected, he will not be involved,”” she said. “I think that is appropriate.”

If Trump doesn’t make Hillary’s health issue #1 he is nuts. She is clearly unfit, and under pressure she will not be able to hold up, especially at the debates.
