Clint did say this though-

Actor-director Clint Eastwood, while stopping short of endorsing Donald Trump, says the Republican presidential candidate is "on to something".

In an interview in Esquire magazine this month, Eastwood praises Trump as a foe of political correctness and laments what he calls "the kiss-ass generation".

Clint Eastwood says "everyone is walking around on eggshells".

Eastwood, 86, said that today "everyone is walking around on eggshells" and that claims of racism are overused.

He said that, growing up, "these things weren't called racist".
Eastwood, who spoke at the 2012 Republican convention, urged people to "get over it".

However, he acknowledged that Trump had said "a lot of dumb things".

Eastwood, who has acted in and directed more than 100 films, uttered the immortal words in Sudden Impact: "Go ahead, make my day."

His latest film Sully opens in September.
