None of this explains why anyone should accept illegal immigrants.
How many times do you need to be told?
It is NOT "illegal" to seek Asylum upon crossing a nation's borders. An Asylum Seeker is not an "illegal immigrant" until their request for Asylum has been refused.
Let them seek asylum in Indonesia and Malaysia where they are let in visa free.
Depends upon where they come from for that to happen. No longer works for Iranians, Iraqis, Afghans and Pakistanis, Frank.
Quote:From there they exit illegally and they try to enter Australia illegally, without passports or visas.
They don't need exit visas to leave Indonesia.
They are seeking Asylum in Australia - they don't need passports or visas to do that.
Quote:Unless they are fleeing Malaysia or Indonesia, they ARE illegals - leaving Indoneisa/malaysia illegally and trying to enter Australia illegally.
According to whom? You?
Quote:This is why detention is entirely legal. This is why West Papuan refugees - fleeing the brutal Islamic regime of Indonesia - are not detained. They ARE fleeing the oppressive, brutal regime of Indonesia.
The Asylum Seekers are fleeing the brutal regimes of their home nations, no matter where they are coming from.
