Nobody in May 1914 expected Europe and the world to be at war within 3 months.
Nobody in 1775 in America or the UK expected America to be independent within a year.
Nobody in 1788 in Paris expected the French revolution within a year.
Nobody on 10 September 2001 expected the world to change the next day.

The big events are always unpredicted.

Pearl Harbour?

And what do you think 'Blitzkrieg' means if not a surprise attack?

And the detour through the Ardennes - bypassing the Maginot Line?

Back to the Drawing Board, Helian.

Trump warned that Hillary, if electedl will start WW3.

Donald Trump warned in an interview Tuesday that Hillary Clinton's policies as president to address the Syrian conflict would lead to World War III, arguing the Democratic nominee would draw the US into armed confrontation with Russia, Syria and Iran.

"What we should do is focus on ISIS. We should not be focusing on Syria," Trump told Reuters on Tuesday morning at his resort in Doral, Florida. "You're going to end up in World War III over Syria if we listen to Hillary Clinton."

Like the outbreak of WWI? Like the French Revolution?

All these things had been fermenting for years. They reached the stage where conflict was inevitable as forces had been mobilized for several months. Animosities had been kindling for several years.

Not only had these conflicts and shifts been predicted for years, they are almost universally seen as inevitable and unpreventable.

Well, WWII was really the continuation of WWI.

In any case, nobody predicted the scale ad consequences.

Is your judgement of Chamberlain as Hitler's appeaser in hindsight too, old boy?
