This is the first honest person I've heard in days

Former New York City mayor Rudy Giuliani came to Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump’s defense on Sunday, saying the New York businessman’s remarks were lewd but not outside of the scope of male banter behind closed doors.

“The fact is that men at times talk like that,” Mr. Giuliani said on CNN’s “State of the Union.” “Not all men, but men do. He was wrong for doing it. I am not justifying it. I believe it’s wrong. I know he believes it’s wrong. I believe that this is not the man that we’re talking about today.”

“Gosh almighty, he who is without sin here throw the first stone,” he added.

Those remarks drew the ire of CNN anchor Jake Tapper, who said he is “happy to throw a stone” in this case.

“I will gladly tell you, Mr. Mayor, I have never said that. I have never done that. I am happy to throw a stone,” Mr. Tapper said. “I don’t know any man — I’ve been in locker rooms, I’ve been a member of a fraternity. I have never heard any man ever brag about being able to maul women because he can get away with it. Never.”

“We’ve taken it to an extra degree of what he said,” Mr. Giuliani responded, adding that

I've been in pubs, clubs, showbiz dressing rooms where this kind of talk happens all the time.

I don't like it, I've never been drawn into it to any great extent. People will know I don't - unlike some - indulge in it here. But it's not going to change this side of Armageddon.

And if they stood for leader of a nation and such talk came to light - they too would rightly be pilloried.

And thats even before we get to their past comments and exploits on related matters.

That's the difference between career politicians, & average every day people.

In the end, one will have a manicured record, whereas the rest will say more things about every subject under the sun, & not remember .... nor care one way or another .... day to day, what might have been said gratuitously the day/night/week/month or year before.

Panther are you actually saying Trump is an "average every day person"?

Not a chance, just someone that hadn't structured his life based on how he would appear to a voting public, so his mannerisms would be less restrictive.....much more average than a career politician's would be.

How Rudy depicted the situation just about says it all........Trump gets a free pass on this......this time, simply because it's understandable, & he apologized for his 10 year old ordinary "locker room type banter" .

No it isn't that is exactly what he has said in fact if anything it is a rather mild way to put it.

Never heard anyone say that they could get away with sexual assault in any pub club dressing sheds or school.

Never ever and very likely neither have you

The funniest thing about all this is how the apologists claim that its "average, everyday men" speak - as if average, every day men are all squillionaire celebrities who can do whatever they want with women. Thats what he said remember - that he gets to "grab their pussy" etc on account of him being a rich celebrity.

This is the first honest person

strange definition for defending the indefensible.

notice the ex mayor he gave himself an out and then argued that the statement was milder than it was.

Just a hack playing politics.

Seriously, it'll be yesterdays news, forgotten a week from now.

Hell, 20 kids gunned down in a Connecticut grammar school only lasted a few months. Believe me a little locker room type guy talk 'ill have a very short life span over there.
