Racism in Brazil has been a major issue ever since the colonial era and the slave era imposed by Portuguese settlers, which led to a persistent marginalization of the black population in the country. People from other countries are treated differently by some Indian people, based both on skin colour and country of origin.
African people are especially affected by racism in India. Many African people who go to India to study have been victims of racism. Some are denied living accommodations and face other forms of racism.
In 1998, Indonesia riots over higher food prices and rumors of hoarding by merchants and shopkeepers often degenerated into
anti-Chinese attacks. There were also racism against religion & believe wide across the country, especially between Muslims and Christians.
Amnesty International has estimated more than 100,000 Papuans, one-sixth of the population, have died as a result of
violence against West Papuans, while others had previously specified much higher death tolls. See also
