I recently bought a @80 litre Kathmandu in good condish from the Sallies for $15 bucks. Even had the wet/phone packs.

Thank you for the advice. I was planning on going to one of the charitable organisations for stuff. Will keep an eye open for those.

Sun,Monday and today I've done a 5km walk with 15kgs which is about as heavy as I can go with it being hardly noticeable.

I like how it keeps my heart rate in the 100s with no real feeling of extra effort.

I trekdown Norton's Basin and up with 20kgs from time to time. Makes you feel like you're made of lead.

Looks reasonable Mr Hammer, presuming it has some sort of walking track?

It's pretty subsided in parts. I sprained my ankle on the way down. Scratched by Lantana on the way up. Good times.

I understand the sentiment, just difficult sometimes to sympathise with it when you've been bush bashing for 4 hours slogging your guts up a hill with a pack. E.g. I'm joining a team in the the Bush Search and Rescues Navshield competition at end of June. Basically rogaining but over a longer area, will want a track by the end I'm sure.

I still walk on established tracks. Sooner the later I have to go rogue.

I put my 36kg weighted backpack on last night for the first time in a while. I was probably walking no more than 5km/h around my usual route. By the time I got to my first rest stop, I was completely buggered. I woke up this morning and tried to get out of bed to do my usual day. I was greeted by the staggering pain in my feet that left me barely able to walk. But, it did take about 10 minutes before I was walking relatively freely again.

4km last night. 5.5km tonight. Weighed myself on a new set of scales. 107kg. If I can make it below 100kg by June, I will be very happy.

I was helping a nice young 20-somethun bisexual chick with no bra, remove the old solar panels from atop her coaster.
Well, I mean - she was up there doing the work, then removing the rust spots, sealing them, etc. I was just giving instruction and boy was it keeping me fit and in shape.  Smiley
