Legalise Polygamy?
Dec 13th, 2016 at 3:50pm

Legalise it here in Australia, or not?

Personally, I don't like marriage. Not my thing.

However, if a bunch of people want to get married to each other, why should anyone stop them?

Consenting adults, of course.

If three women wanted to marry three men, and all live together in a bisexual polygamous marriage, I can't see the problem.

You can shack up with as many willing partners as you can find. As long as there are no calls on the taxpayer to support them and all the kids, you can can do that now.

Marriage is about privilege and state sanction = access to state support.

Nobody mentioned kids, or taxpayer support.

Polygamy is the practice of having more than one wife or husband at the same time.

Should it be legalised in Australia?

I can't see why not.

Yep, that was a pretty ridiculous statement alright.

And introducing children to the mix was just silly.

I'm talking about marriage, not reproduction.

And there we go: only up to reply number 6, and already Sir Booby turns the thread gay.

Not that there's anything wrong with that.

Should women legally be able to have more than one husband in our country, Booby?

There are two issues with polygamy. One is legal, and quite complex. The other is moral, which is not something that can be debated. Some people will not recognise this what ever is said.

Personally, I would say polygamy is immoral, and I do not follow a religion.

Peccas divorced. Hes on record here as stating he got caught dressing up in his ex wifes clothes while indulging in some self satisfaction and she didnt take kindly to it. Not that theres anything wrong with that.
