So? Yes Bill needs to show more outrage at the crimes committed by the shambles and try and generate a slightly more positive personality. A lesson most pollies have to learn.

It is not Shorten wasting $60Bn on a collection of obsolete/obsolescent technology that will do nothing to boost internet speeds or the economy. $60Bn spent because FTTH was a Labor project.

I know who I prefer as PM and it isn’t the waffler.

$60Bn worth of corruption, basically. Criminal negligence at worst.

JM,

your fiber to the person fantasy was flogged to death during the six sick years of Socialist insanity.

To actually achieve your Socialist fantasy would cost about $200 billion and would take about 20 years and still going to build.

Can you imagine the horrific cost of modifying existing large unit buildings to extend the fiber optic cable from the main board up to EVERY INDIVIDUAL UNIT ?

Not to mention the cost where existing ducts are full in busy city areas. What about the asbestos scare that brought Labor undone ?

But anyone who wants to pay for it can have fiber to their home - just so long as they are prepared to PAY FOR IT.

You realize that the original Socialist fantasy was to use the NBN as a spy network to watch suspicious persons as it went into EVERY home ?

Dear Juliar, if you really want to debate the NBN you better read some real sources first!

Even the NBN Co “Strategic Review” showed it would cost $72Bn to RESUME the FTTH rollout after 2 years of doing nothing by NBN Co.

The MTM is going to cost more than that. Not only that, FTTN generates so little revenue and has the high costs of maintaining and powering the copper. Would have been cheaper and easier to burn the $60Bn, better even because most people see either no or negligible increase in internet speeds or actually see a decrease as their copper is so bad it just cannot handle the higher frequency VDSL signals.

That $72Bn is based on no improvements in roil out efficiency and costs. All other rollouts of FTTH show a decrease in the cost of connecting each premise.

So the MTM will cost more and do practically nothing after the $60Bn (and the rest. . . ) is spent.

There have been very few FoD actually connected, 15 from memory. There have been a LOT more applications for FoD than that!

Face it, the MTM is a bottomless pit for taxpayers’ funds and will achieve nothing.

You are asking for juliar to read "real sources".  Better chance asking for a reading of some abbott advertising brochure.  Real facts don't stop some people from sprouting propaganda.
