Australia never was great and may never be great.

It's just a quiet little backwater that is allowed to exist in peace.

Forget about University degrees and high-tech jobs and study coffee serving, burger flipping, digging holes, filling holes, bricklaying, rabbit-proof fencing, copper wire networking and road making.

If you're lucky you will land a job in Australia's only manufacturing industry; "Map of Tassie Merkins".

Australia is rather unique in the world. Our country and our lifestyle is envied around the globe. We have an exceptionally high standard of living, outstanding levels of freedoms and services and in a part of the world where robust democracy and unrestricted freedom is a bit rare, we are the standout in the region.

We weren't always great, but we certainly are now and have been since the post-war era.
