How long can you live without Water?

How long can you live without water? A person can survive only three to five days without water, in some cases people have survived for an average of one week. It is not recommended that anyone try this at home. Once the body is deprived of fluids the cells and organs in the body begin to deteriorate. The presence of water in the body could mean the difference between life and death.

The human body is made from cells, bones, organs, and fluids. The functionality and longevity of the body depends on many factors. For instance, a person who goes without food and not water will live for quite a bit longer. This is because every organ in the body needs water to continue living. The survival of the kidney, and heart, and the purity of the blood depend on the adequate intake of water.

The role water plays in maintaining the functionality of the body is remarkable. Without water the body will perish; that has already been established. Another disadvantage of the body being deprived of water is the lack of oxygen and nutrients that water carries throughout the body. Water is used to flush impurities out of the body. That is why it is important to urinate or empty the bladder often; to avoid infections and other illnesses. The kidney works as a filter, by eliminating waste from the body in the form of a liquid.

A dry body cannot absorb or digest foods. Bones will lose it cushioning and become more prone to breaks, and infections. The body needs at least 8 glasses or 64 ounces of water per day. This is to ensure that all the cells and organs in the body are being properly watered. When the body is given other liquids over a long period of time, the body may experience urinary tract infections, or bladder infections. This is because other liquids may contain a small percentage of water, they do not contain enough water to make a profound difference in the amount of water the body needs. The human body needs a large quantity of water on a daily basis in order to stay healthy.

Indigenous Australians are not unique in this regard, three days is the average that people can survive without water, a week is the maximum.   Roll Eyes

No one said Abos were unique, in fact Kalahari Bushmen have similar ability. Its just a fact Brian, humans do physically adapt to their environments. Suggest you do a  bit of reading before Bobby makes you look stupid again.

I just can't think of any doing great things like the superior white man, unless you want to count Adam Booodes who got Australian of the year for bullying a 13 year old girl.

No, all they seem to do is collect welfare, trash their public housing and get drunk on anything from metho to goon whilst hating on the evil white man for taking their lands which they did nothing with in 40000 years.

Discuss.

The only person I consider inferior is the person who started this stupid thread.

In a time of universal deceit — telling the truth is a revolutionary act.

No evidence whatsoever it can be attributed to George Orwell or Eric Arthur Blair (in fact the same guy)

"Oh, I heard on the radio..." goes the song, Rhino.  Until you or Bobby put up some proof that what Bobby claims is true, I think we can safely disregard it.   There is no evidence that Indigenous Australians were superior at being able to go without water.  In reality, they knew where water was and where it was likely to be and went there to replenish their supplies.   QED.    Roll Eyes

When you climatise you sweat less and lose water slower. It may be true. My  family in FNQ tolerate the place better than me when I go up there. I'm always drinking water and sweating.

A couple of mirrors a bag of sugar was all it took for Cook to ensure this place didn't go to wrack and ruin.

Quote:
What up?!
Summer in the sand
He's a drummer in the band
Drop the beach
He's a dj at the boardwalk
I smile and I tan
And her sandals in her hand
Rockin' her shades
You could almost see the eyes lock
What could be better
Than a party in the weather
With the both of us together
In the backdrop?
Everything was right
And the day turned into night
With the music and the lights
That's when we stop

Oh, I heard it on the radio
Sing it out loud
Oh, coming down to see your show
Uh, uh, oh,
Everybody now
I heard it on the radio
Oh, ohoo
Uh, uh, oh

Everybody now
Coming down to see your show
Play it back, play it back
One time yeah
I heard it on the radio
Board and a wet suit
On the day we met
You'd think if you were
Catching a wave
Shorts and a jet ski
All the other summer things
Kickin' it in the sun
All day
We only got time for each other
And we only got time for the summer
Everybody knows
If you gotta let it go
Take the chance
Make it go your way
Oh, I heard it on the radio
Sing it out loud
Oh, coming down to see your show
Uh, uh, oh,
Everybody now

I heard it on the radio
Oh, ohoo
Uh, uh, oh
Everybody now
Coming down to see your show
Play it back, play it back
One time yeah
I heard it on the radio

Okay,
Listen to the story 'bout the party
'bout the glory, 'bout the summer that would raise the bar
Anyone will tell you
It was chillin', it was stellar
The best time we've had so far
Everyone together
Always goin' "never better"
And the good times go on, and on, and on
Never will forget it
Doesn't matter where we're headed
I'll remember when I hear our song
What!

Oh, heard it on the radio
Oh, coming down to see your show
Uh, uh, oh,
Everybody now

Heard it on the radio
Oh, ohoo
Uh, uh, oh
Everybody now
Coming down to see your show
Oh oh, oh

I heard it on the radio
Oh oh, oh
I heard it on the radio
Oh, I heard it on the radio
Everybody now
Oh, coming down to see your show

Uh, uh, oh,
Uh, uh, oh
Play it back, play it back
One time yeah
Uh, uh, oh

Are you saying that 60,000 years of natural selection in Australia

did nothing to change the genes of Aboriginals?

Not appreciably, Bobby.  Not to the point that they don't need water like every other human being.

When are you going to provide a link to a scientific paper that suggests otherwise?  Mmmm?   Roll Eyes

When the theory tests are through head to Port Augusta {port agudda} for some practical experience, it is an eye opener, perhaps to Ceduna where welfare cards are in play, maybe a little tamer to the less educated.

I've visited Port Augusta many times over the years whenever I was on Army Exercise at El Alamein or Cultana training area.   I've been through Ceduna a few times as well.   Nothing inexplicable in either town.   Roll Eyes

Nope.  I am not kidding.  I have visited Port Augusta about 3-4 times a year.  Ceduna I used to visit about once or twice a year.   Why do you find this strange?   Roll Eyes
