I'm thinking about a career move
Jan 31st, 2017 at 6:14am

Actually I'm retired, but if I had to choose a new career I would opt to be . . .wait for it . . .a RoboBarista.

Its the coming new guaranteed employment.
Go to the Cafe X in San Francisco and be served perfect coffee by a steady hand . . .actually a metal claw.

I wonder will they put skirts on some of them or would the feminists (or whatever they're called now) get upset.

If you want to get into the economics go to the Wall St Journal.

Another possible job is as a RoboFruitpicker on a fruit packing assembly line.
They give you a nice anthropomorphic Soma hand (Soft Manipulation) and your work will never exhaust.you.

That's in the medical field when they replace doctors with robots and they ask you to cough... when they do that these days I usually reach for my wallet....

Then they'll wonder why nobody has the cash to buy their fruit.... oh, well... what 'economists' these days and political hacks need to get their robominds around is the simple reality that an Economy involves FLOW-ON of cash and economic activity - not trickle-down.... Harry Bloggs buys a pair of pears and the fruit market spends part of the profit on a coffee, then orders more pears to fill the spot..... Bill Grower spends part of his profit on fertiliser.... grows more pears.... and so it goes on and on... the fertiliser factory pays Jim Guanoman to load bags of... you know.... and Jim goes out and buys a coffee at lunch time .. the coffee shop owner Luigi Grinda buys a pear or two.....

If Harry can't afford a pair of pears, or even a single pear .....no deal...

What about robopolitician.

Makes stupid comments all day.
Claims for immoral travel (within the rules of course)
Retire after 10 years
Never do anything yseful.

Or perhaps a robo senior public servant

Similar to the politician, just takes bigger bribes
Looks out the window all day instead of just the afternoon
Wastes money with gay abandon

The feminists wouldn't complain if you put them in burqas.

They would look like Daleks then.
