Why is her mental health in question?

Surely she;s robust enough to go on reality TV.

Morbid obesity begins in the mind. Food can be a substitute for not receiving love. It could be a compensation for depression, loneliness, poor self-esteem, self-hate, etc.

It's good that she has stepped out of the closet to face her demons, and I wish her the very best in this endeavour.

Oh gt your hand off it. She's not morbidly obese.

Actually.  SHE IS MORBIDLY OBESE.

No. Sh's not.

And there are many reasons a person puts on weight and by far fro the most common is mental health issues.

And just so you know, not all wight gain is a result of ating too much. There are a great many overweight people who starve themselves.

How can calories be gained without eating? Are you an advocate for breatharianism?

Here's a big word for you Gordy. Metabolism.

Bollocks.
http://www.mayoclinic.org/healthy-lifestyle/weight-loss/expert-answers/slow-meta...

And are you STILL suggesting people who starve themselves can absorb calories in some way other than eating?

I'm telling you straight up that not all overweight peopel overeat.

There are many reasons why a person is overweight.

Tell the Mayo, not me.
Do you think they have some info on absorbing calories from the air?

Did you actually read the article? Or you just saw the headline and went with it.

Can you tell me if you don't eat how your body absorbe calories?  This is what Mayo says

Rather than slow metabolism, factors more likely to contribute to weight gain include:

Eating too many calories
Getting too little physical activity

I doubt that is true. However, assuming it is, I have never personally known a fat or obese person who was not a glutton. There is another word that is not PC anymore.

In discussions about food, which we all like, these people invariably go into extacies about certain foods, and they are also invariably the ones that contribute to their size.

That is not an opinion, it is my experience.

Your experience is wanting.

Kinda sorta.....it means they need to be guided by medical advice in moving more and eating less.

A physiotherapist and dietician will usually be required also. You need to be able to know WHAT exercises your body should be doing and what foods you should be eating....as well as how much exercising and food intake is permissible.

One other thing....a multi disciplinary team will help you to set realistic and achievable goals for your current age/condition.

Ok Gordy?
