If you can't be a good example, you have to be a horrible warning.

Why is it that threads like these undermine the very powerful work being don by Muslim feminists.

It's like they don't even exist.

"Why don't feminists fight for Muslim women", cause they are all gay and would be killed if they intervened!

Brian Ross on why Muslims kill Quote:-" It appears to be a cultural thing, rather than something they have learnt from their religion, despite what you appear to believe."

Hirsi is as always, trying to cleverly disguise her real agenda - in this case by trying to wedge western feminists.

This specific charge against western feminists in regard to women in the muslim world is a strawman - thats the first point. Hirsi herself would surely know that the accusation that feminists "don't care" about women in the muslim world simply doesn't stack up, and is unfair. Thats why she is directing the conversation towards "Quranic and Islamic Law" - by contextualising abuse of women's rights within absolute definitions (instead of acknowledging her definition as merely one interpretation) of "Islamic law" , she is making (or at least attempting to make) standing up for women's rights and condemnation of Islam one in the same.

Her agenda, as always, is the delegitimisation of Islam itself. She is merely using the ruse of women's rights as a cynical tool for this end.

A resident Islam critic who claims to represent western values said:
Quote:
Outlawing the enemy's uniform - hijab, islamic beard - is not depriving one's own people of their freedoms.

When Muhammed struck his favourite child bride, it was because he loved her and was concerned for her safety if she went outside again without his permission, right Gandalf?

Are women oppressed in Muslim countries? What about in Islamic enclaves in the West? Are these places violating or fulfilling the Quran and Islamic law?

The answer is that the Left's long-term political ambitions needs the votes of all the immigrant minorities in order to increase its mandate to rule, and so feminist activism has been put aside for the greater purpose of ingratiating with the minorities for their votes.

The vast majority of Muslim women don't see themselves as 'oppressed' or as being 'second-class citizens', and so they view it as insulting to both themselves, their menfolk, and to Islam itself when Western feminists tell them they are chattels to their husbands, and they are inferior creatures according to the patriarchal edicts of the Koran.

Western feminists were stopped in their tracks when they realised they weren't winning the sympathy and gratitude of the vast majority of Muslim women, and so it became counter-productive to their socialist proselytizing to pursue this line of feminist complaint on their behalf any longer.
