But that would upset the Big End of town..why do that when you can kick the little guy's heads in

Like labor did when they spent all those years in power, oh wait ..............

Don't point fingers at the liberals when your precious labor did absolutely fkk all about the problem when they were in power and will do in the future as well.

You seem to have not noticed who it is that wants to steal from the poor and if he can't get away with that he will just tax them more instead ?

Nothing to do with Labor at all.

Notice the Govt. never talks about reducing public service wages?

They can't take the public servants off the gravy train but they
can tax all the rest of us or slug welfare recipients.

Meanwhile the CEO of Australia post gets $5.6M per annum.

Treasurer threatens tax hike to fund NDIS
February 15, 2017
News.com.au

Treasurer Scott Morrison has threatened to increase taxes if a raft of welfare cuts worth billions of dollars are blocked by the Senate.   Huh

The government expected to generate $5.6 billion in savings through its welfare omnibus bill - which appears certain to fail - earmarking $1.6 billion for childcare fee subsidies and the remaining $4 billion for the National Disability Insurance Scheme.

"If you don't fund it (the NDIS) by getting welfare under control, you've got two other options, increase taxes or increase debt," Mr Morrison told News Corp.

Labor, the Greens, the Nick Xenophon Team and Jacqui Lambie have all signalled they will reject the bill, leaving only One Nation in favour.   Smiley

The treasurer said price fluctuations meant the government could not rely on a spike in iron ore revenues to bankroll spending and achieve structural change.

"If the parliament is going to insist that the government spend more and more money, particularly on welfare, then someone has to pay for that." he told Sky News Business on Tuesday.

There were only two options to do so, and finding savings was the government's first preference.

"But if you don't do that, you've either got to have higher debt - which is a tax on your children - or you have to do it with other revenue measures.

yes so many public servants and yet none of them can run the electricity grid so they have to flog it off to private scammers to rip us off Sad

But labor could have fixed the problem I was actually commenting on (I even highlighted it), but they did nothing; so yes it is nothing to do with labor at all. The do nothing, nothing to see here, not our problem, party.

Umm, it's $5.6 billion in welfare payments that are going to people who do not qualify for it.

what a load of rubbish. If they didn't qualify for it they wouldn't be getting it you fool.

Oh you poor misguided fool. You really have no idea how easy it is to dupe the system, do you?

Which system? The corporate tax system where $30 billion a year of tax savings can be found without even breaking a sweat? That system?

How many billions does the government lose each year because of Swan tripling the tax-free threshold?

None. After accounting for inflation, the tax free threshold has the same value it had in 1983.

How many billions does the government lose each year because of Costello cutting taxes on the rich and cutting the CGT?

So if that's true, why didn't Swan do anything about it? He had ample time and opportunity. It's not like he couldn't have passed any legislation he wanted to.

How many billions does the government lose each year because of Costello cutting taxes on the rich and cutting the CGT?

So you want to massively increase taxes to pay for your 'free' stuff'?

And you think 'the rich' aren't smart enough to find a way around our sh1t fight of a tax system to not pay those taxes anyway.

What a brilliant plan, you should run this country all on your own.

Exactly ... the company tax cut is unfunded, so why go ahead with it? It's not going to create anywhere near the number of jobs that the government claims.

For about the same amount of money, the government could implement a job guarantee and create real jobs for half a million people. What effect would it have on the economy to put half a million people into full time work? A lot more than this company tax cut where the benefits will be mostly retained by the companies as extra profits. If anyone thinks companies are going to hire half a million people they don't need, they are in need of remedial economics. It's just more trickle down nonsense.

In fact, the liberals CREATED many of the problems. Howard's government allowed companies to deduct debt on all of their global operations in Australia, so they loaded up on debt here to evade tax, good idea, NOT.

The CEO of Australia Post would be paying himself MUCH less if he had to be directly accountable to the voters.

You are the one hysterically demanding big companies pay more taxes, not me; and at least you acknowledge that in 6 whole years in power the labor party did absolutely nothing to make that happen.

Keep crying like a little b1tch baby and see how that works out for ya.  Grin Grin Grin Grin

I have not advocated an increase to the company tax rate, and I have made many posts stating that the Parliament can get the company tax rate to 25% by scrapping various forms of corporate welfare. Another straw man post from you.

...

You are not acknowledging that the Liberals are doing SFA to fix the problems and have done nothing at all in the past 20 years. Why won't you admit this? Looks like you're one of those small-minded partisan hacks who simply cannot admit that your beloved Liberals are a bunch of do-nothing grubs.
