How many terms should it take ?
Feb 22nd, 2017 at 3:29pm

The last Australian federal Labor government entered caretaker mode some three and a half years ago - before losing the September 2013 election to the Abbott led LibNat coalition

Yet every time the current Liberal Party leader, Malcolm Turnbull - or any of his front bench - is given a simple question in the parliament - or by the media - we get the same responses  ?

These being ... "Under Labor"... blah ... blah ... blah ... "
and "What Bill Shorten would do ... blah ... blah ... blah"

Why is any rise in unemploymet in 2017 the fault of Labor's 2013 budget - yet the occassional small drop in the same period  is due to the brilliance of the Coalition's treasurer of the day

Why is the GFC unemployment rate inherited from a Labor Government - three and a half years ago - now HIGHER, under the Turnbull Government ?

... and why is a GFC stimulus budget deficit, inherited from the last Labor Government - three and a half years ago - now LARGER, in the hands of the Abbott and Turnbull Governments ?

Before going on both sides do it, its not just a Liberal thing. I think honestly it shouldnt be a term, it should be 12 months.

How many terms should it take ?

I'm not sure what you're asking

if you're asking how many terms before the libs do something? that's like asking when will I win lotto

if you're asking how many terms before the libs accept responsibility? the anser is never ... if the libs were in govt. ten terms (i know, funny right  Grin Grin) they'd still blame labor for everything

if you're asking how many terms will libs spend in opposition after this rabble? then I'd guess 2 to 3 terms minimum

The sad part about this constant 'its all labors fault' lie from the incompetent rabble is that their brain dead supporters believe it and repeat the lie over and over. One has only to look at the forums village idiot juLiar to see how the ploy works. Grin Grin Grin

I think a Government should be given 5 years to prove itself in any matter. That is why I have argued for a 5-year term. 3 years is just too short to do anything of substance. Government present a half-hearted proposal to the people every 3 years.

Shocked Shocked Shocked

5 years? get real. 5 years a govt. can do so much irreparable damage.

Let them earn their second term.

So this mob have been in for over 3 years and the country just keeps sliding down the chute. Another 2 years will probaly see us in deep recession.Your 5 year term sounds fine if you have a competent government but this rabble haven't got a clue. They only have one retort, "its all labors fault".

They can also do some really good things. You have to ask yourself: what's more likely in the grand scheme of things? That they're going to stuff up, or that they're going to make it better?

If this Government led Australia to a recession, there would be severe electoral backlash, not to mention that Turnbull and the Ministry would probably be booted out before that happened. I don't need to remind you that it's the party that ultimately has control.
